Summary
Elena soon discovered a large amount of the Turk’s reputation was a combination of deliberate obfuscation, convenient assumptions and lies Reno told. Certainly it would otherwise be impossible to square a strange perception the Turks knew everything and everyone with the long, long list of questions and oddities peppering recent events and her elevation to the group’s ranks. No one could confirm Palmer’s borderline hysterical and near impossible account. No one knew how Avalanche had slipped their cells and crashed out of the city at speed. The group’s destination after would be easy enough to pin down from checking maps, but a lesser consideration right now.
To her immense surprise, Elena is offered a job in the Turks.

A vacation would be nice. Elena grimaced; the last time she had the time for something as trivial as a vacation was back before Meteorfall. After surviving and helping rebuild the Shinra company, there was still day to day life to contend with. And that was before current events. Rufus dispatching them to Nibelheim for the last dregs of Jenova should have been a fool’s errand. But in amongst the inert Mako reactor machinery were traces of cells. Something the newly awakened Remnants were decidedly interested in.
Elena prepares to take on the Remnants in Edge with Reno and Rude.

Reno handed her the note without comment, plucked a flower from the basket and hurried on.

Summary
In the years following the events of Final Fantasy VII, things have finally settled down. However, the peace is shattered by a shocking revelation, though perhaps not one all that unexpected. It seems the Jenova Project had proven inspirational for a handful of Shinra scientists in the immediate aftermath of Meteorfall, and their secret involvement in a series of underground experiments had finally birthed a result. Two of them, it seems.
A thought experiment into the age-old psychological "nature vs. nurture" debate, while asking the question:
"What if the Planet decided to take a highly unconventional method of keeping the Centra alive, by using Shinra's Science Department to create a pair of Ariseph-style kids, and everyone had to deal with the aftermath and learn to overcome their own trauma/prejudices?"- Language:

Summary
Reno and Tseng are friends. They may not phrase it so. Reno might say their cool and Tseng might say they have a healthy working relationship. Now. They are friends now. To say Reno and Tseng started out on the wrong foot would be an understatement. Tseng would describe it as less of a big deal than Reno would but Reno is the more emotive of the two. To say that Reno messed up would be the best description of the scenario.

"Mom."
She blinks at him, a little taken aback by his surety, but smiles all the same, hiding it with her menu. "Alright... they have a cheesecake on the desert menu, would that and a coffee be alright?"
"Sure."
There's suddenly a mess of red-hair looming over his mother's shoulder, peering at her menu; she stiffens a little, obviously shocked, but Reno doesn't seem to notice (or perhaps its that he doesn't care). Grinning, he traces a finger down the menu and stabs at one particular spot with a laugh. "You buyin', Partner? I'm totally gettin' the chocolate fudge cake. An' a beer. I could totally go for a beer right now."
Two hours later, and Rude is wandering the late night city streets with his mother at his side; her arm linked through the crook of his elbow, one hand gripping his forearm as if to assure herself, still, that he will not go anywhere. He isn't planning to, wouldn't dare. Though, admittedly, he rather wishes Reno would.

She picks up another crate and watches Tseng turn, his pity focused anywhere but on the girl it’s meant for. He always takes so long to answer her less-nuanced questions, shaping cold facts into niceties with his forked tongue until he thinks they’ll hurt Aerith less. He’s always been a real coward. “Shinra doesn’t know you’re here,” he says. “I haven’t told anyone.”
“You’re Shinra,” she argues. “And you’re not supposed to let me leave, are you?”
“It wouldn’t be the first time I’ve broken a rule for you.”
In pursuit of Zack and freedom from subjugation under Shinra, Aerith attempts to escape from Midgar. Tseng's presence makes that easier said than done.

Reno hit pause, groaned and fidgeted on the hospital bed. Amongst the Turk's many supposed specialities, information and surveillance remained high on the list. Which was laughable given the infamous nature of the Turks at the best of times and their official listing as part of HR. But Tseng was something of dictator within the outfit. Reno may be too injured for field operations – something he dearly hoped would end soon – but not too incapacitated he could not watch video.
Reno might be in the hospital to recover after the fight at the pillar - doesn't mean he can't contribute in some fashion in the aftermath of Sephiroth's bloody attack on the Shinra building.
