Summary
The annoying thing about his phantom pain, Twilight thinks with gritted teeth, is that he still has his arm. So he feels the entire point of the feeling is moot— like, just because he got it sliced off this one time he suddenly has to deal with his brain panicking once in a while, even though his arm is still there. He got better, brain.
His brain doesn’t really seem to give a fuck, because Twilight had pushed himself up from his bedroll that morning and nearly ate it immediately. He’d then stared at the lightening sky above him and thought, oh, okay, so it’s going to be like that.
- - -or: Twilight's got a shitty arm sometimes. Today happens to be 'sometimes'.

“‘M jus’... not worth it,” he says quietly, so quietly he can barely hear himself. “‘Not worth stayin’ for, I mean. ‘N I dunno how I’m foolin’ y’all into thinkin’ so.”
Silence stretches between them, thick and heavy. Twilight digs one of his canines into his lip as guilt swarms in his throat; that wasn’t fair. It’s not right to just dump shit on people just because he’s feeling like this. Legend’s eyes have gone wide, his body still, like he’d just now understood something. Twilight throws back another gulp of whiskey and tells himself it’s because of the resulting burn that there’s tears in his eyes.
“Yeah,” Legend says suddenly and slowly, drawing out the word by the vowels. “Fuck that, actually.”
- - -or: Twilight alone with his thoughts and a bottle of whiskey is never a good combination. Legend decides it's time to smack some sense into him.

Twilight and the Chain have recently arrived back in Wild's Hyrule after being gone for several years. There's so many changes and new developments.
But there's comfort in familiarity, and when they reach Dueling Peaks Stable, Twilight and some of the other heroes rush to the stables to check on the horses there. These four heroes have fought alongside a horse named Epona and hold valuable memories of her. They love to ride, and they love their horses even more.
These heroes are also horribly competitive and can't turn down the prospect of a challenge. So who's the best horse rider? The trials they undergo will decide this outcome.Series

Twilight forces a snort, trying to ground himself back in the present. "Obviously. The finest cell, too, most sought ‘fter in the entire castle dungeons."
Warriors whistles softly through his teeth, eyebrows flicking upward “Damn, what’d you do to land yourself in the castle dungeons?”

In the wake of Twilight accidentally triggering one of Warriors' phobias, Legend sets out on the behalf of the rest of the heroes to keep the rancher distracted and out of their way, using a pretended illness as his excuse. Unfortunately, with a brain so busy trying to remember how to be sick, some of his own paranoia bleeds out and reopens a previously unknown injury on the rancher's heart.

"Just, shut up." He was quickly interrupted by Legend's harsh voice who turned to glare at him murderously as he pointed a finger at him. The others fell silent at his tone, looking at the pink-haired boy in a strange way. He breathed heavily, baring his teeth. "Wild, shut the fuck up."
Time held up his hand to calm him down. “Legend please-”
"No. Time, do not dare. I'm gonna lose my shit here, I-" The Veteran choked slightly before taking a shaky breath, staring Wild straight in the eye. "You. Do you really think we give a fuck about the mission Hylia put us on!? And about you? Wild, you-” He sputtered heavily.
“Do we need to remind you that, your first quest fucking killed you?” He spat with a sort of hatred that was not directed at him. Legend was silent for a moment, letting his words hover around them in the air. No one spoke as he ran his hands over his face, wiping the sweat from his forehead at the same time and hiding his face. He spoke quietly, almost a whisper. "What's going to happen in the second one? Wild, tell me what do you think will happen on your next adventure?”
Wild does not answer.
