hawkins, indiana, 1989.
lucas is still reeling from the events of a certain spring break back in 1986. the fallout has been dealt with, but it turns out that the hardest part of this would be picking up the pieces.
the town is different now. maybe it was because the citizens now knew something was wrong in hawkins. maybe it’s because he’s three years older and maturity can hurt like a mother sometimes. but deep down, lucas knows that even if both of those are true, theyre not the reason.
the town is so different now because dustin seems to be absent from it.
physically, hes present, but its felt like he’s been on an entirely different planet from lucas for years, and it’s eating away at him.
while lucas deals with trying to manage his emotions— teetering on the edge of absolute self destruction and holding the galaxy in the palms of his hands, he struggles through the thick waves of mental health issues, picking himself apart but constantly trying to glue his pieces back together. and thanks to one little poetry project, his eyes open to the fact he’s not alone— or, doesn’t have to be. not anymore.

Summary
Dean is really trying to listen to Sam talk about organic vegetables his fiancé wants, but his attention is brought to a commotion near the front of the store. There is a loud crash, like glass breaking. Immediately, Dean is on edge, his hand hovering over his concealed gun. He takes a few slow steps towards the end of the aisle, but doesn’t make it far before someone turns into the aisle from the opposite side. Dean turns to ask if the man is okay.
The words get stuck somewhere in Dean’s throat, his eyes going wide. The man is wearing a suit and a long, tan trench coat. His tie is blue like his eyes and his hair is sticking up in all directions, completely wild and untamable in a way that has Dean swallowing the lump in his throat. The way this man walks, almost at a run, is like he’s on the most important mission of his life.
“Dean, are you still there?” Sam asks, shaking Dean out of his trance.
“I- um,” Dean starts, but suddenly there’s a large, strong hand on his shoulder and he’s being manhandled up against the shelf of bread.

Summary
In Spokane, Washington, Dean and Castiel finish a case with a powerful witch. Ready to go back home, they start driving back to the bunker, only to find that a big purple shield is blocking their way, not letting them leave.
Forced to remain in that town, Dean and Castiel go to a cabin, where they will have to stay until the two of them find a way to break the spell with the help of Sam and Eileen, who are in the bunker, unable to reach them.
In normal circumstances, Dean wouldn’t mind being stuck in such a lovely place with his best friend, but he is secretely in love with Cas and there is only one bed, so things aren’t going to be that easy for Dean.

Summary
Fury blinded Steve, he snarled, his body reacting before his mind had time to catch up. A punch sailed past Billy, who had easily sidestepped. Billy caught his wrist, put the palm of his hand on Steve’s back and used the momentum to help push Steve in a half circle so he was slammed back up against the wall, this time chest to tile, back to Billy’s chest. Steve groaned as Billy jerked his arm up his back, just enough to ache, but not enough to really hurt.
“I can do this all day, pretty boy.” Steve clenched his jaw at the way Billy growled in his ear.
Feeling helpless was something Steve hated, and even more so he hated being naked and helpless, at the mercy of Billy’s psychotic ass. Steve felt Billy’s free hand slide into his hair, pressing Steve’s face harder into the brick, grinding it so the rough texture bit into his cheekbone. The wince couldn't be stopped and Steve hated how it echoed off the walls.
Or Steve is trying to deal with PTSD that causes nightmares and sleep deprivation. Billy has an obsession with Steve.
