Catra is kind enough to try to hold back her smile.
“Well, you just made this super awkward,” she breathes out. “I was gonna ask if your friend was single. You're hot and all. But every word out of your mouth has been a total bummer, not gonna lie.”
Adora has died and gone to lesbian hell. She always knew it would come to this.

It was quiet as Caitlyn and Vi both processed the information, and then very slowly Vi pointed her finger to Caitlyn, and then to herself, one eyebrow raised up to the buzzed half of her hairline. “Us. Get married.”
A new law in Piltover prevents Zaun convicts from working topside without citizenship. Luckily for Vi, all she and Caitlyn have to do is take the next step of their relationship and get married, securing Vi a place in Piltover.
Only problem is, they aren’t in a relationship.

Caitlyn shrugged, curling inwards on herself slightly “I don’t know”.
“Why not?”
Caitlyn chewed her lip for a moment, absently tugging at a loose thread on her jeans.
“Because even if I developed feelings I couldn’t guarantee I could offer them what they wanted. Then it seems pretty selfish to deny them the chance of getting everything with someone else.”
Vi huffed and shook her head softly, a tired smile tugging at her lips “And if you were everything they wanted?”
Caitlyn looked over then, meeting Vi’s gaze “Don’t think the chance of that are very high but if you find them, let me know”.While both Caitlyn and Vi seem perfectly put together on the surface they both feel pretty lost underneath. An unlikely friendship brings them together and sends them on a journey to trying to figure out who they are and what they want to be happy.

Angry protests quickly erupt from the crowd, only to be silenced just as quickly by the cocking of rifles and the crackle of charged batons. Vi keeps her head low and her mouth shut, continuing to nurse her drink. A thousand feelings rush through her mind, but even in her alcohol-addled state of consciousness, one thing is perfectly clear.

A figure approached Caitlyn's right side window, until the passenger got in, vaguely smelling of cigarettes of unknown origins — that might have been hers or from those around her. The passenger gave her a quick glance, gray eyes partly hidden beneath a swoop of red — no, cherry pink, almost mistakable for red under poor lighting — a hairstyle that surprisingly passed their dress code.
“You’re Vi?” Caitlyn continued when the other girl didn’t react. “I’m sure you know who I am.”
Vi nodded, her eyes finding attraction somewhere else, beyond the car window. The tension Caitlyn tried to pretend wasn’t there settled in the small confines of the station car, building up like a slowly condensing glass, aggravated by the fact that she was having a monologue for two.

Adora felt like she had been punched square in the stomach. That voice… it was soft in a way she had never heard, but she would know it anywhere. She could forget everything else, including her own name, but she would never forget the sound of that voice. She turned, holding her breath, to seek out the speaker.
Her hair seemed softer — not quite the wild mess it had been her entire life, but not the same, unnatural way it had been slicked back the last time Adora saw her. The mask was gone, making her face seem more open and a little rounder, like when they had been kids. Her eyes were wide and openly curious, as if the innocence hadn’t yet been beaten out of her.

"You aren't supposed to be here." the woman tells her.
"Is your name on this damn bridge?" Vi bites back, not yet opening her eyes to regain focus.
"I'm sorry but I really need this bridge to be alone and...if you could please leave, I'd appreciate it." the woman says, an accent so thick it might as well have clogged her throat.
That's it.
Vi opens her eyes and turns her head to get a good look at her.
"Listen here you—" the words got caught in her throat at that moment, her initial thought and insult that sat on the tip of her tongue.
Her grip on the railing unconsciously softened, unaware of how the tension had slowly started to slip away.
The woman was so beautiful, Vi almost didn't want to jump.

The first time Vi kissed Caitlyn, it was out of spite.
The bounty had been hers. Hers. Vi had done all the work—tracked the bastard down, beaten him bloody, dragged him through the filth of Zaun’s underbelly. And then, just as she was about to claim her prize, Caitlyn had appeared, all righteous smirks and pristine blue, pistol already drawn.
“Drop him,” Caitlyn had ordered, her voice sharp as her aim.
Vi had wiped the blood from her mouth, grinned, and then, instead of letting go of the bounty, she had grabbed Caitlyn by the front of her ridiculous Enforcer jacket and kissed her, just to see what would happen. Just to piss her off.
The gun had gone off. The bounty had fled. And Vi had laughed, even as Caitlyn shoved her off with a snarl, pistol raised.
That should have been the end of it.
But it never ended.

Vi nodded absently, her gaze floating from Caitlyn’s eyes to the couch, where she and Vi had first - helped. Caitlyn followed her gaze, checking to see if anything was there, seeing nothing.
Caitlyn met Vi’s eyes, and Vi had a half smile, a little you-caught-me shrug, something satisfied and wistful on her expression. It tugged at Caitlyn’s gut, that clear sign of remembrance.
“You should come,” Caitlyn blurted.
Vi’s eyebrows lifted. “To your game?”
Caitlyn nodded. “If you want to, I mean. It’d be cool if you came - it’d be fun. For you. Should be a pretty good game - or so I’m told. If you’re free - no real pressure.”
She was spared more blabbering by Vi shrugging and saying, “sure.”
“Really?” Caitlyn asked, eyes wide.
“I mean - yeah. Sounds fun. I never really got into the college rivalry stuff, but I’m always available to watch athletic women.”

Vi grins sharply, a dangerous glint in her eyes as she absentmindedly taps away at a rhythm on the shared kitchen’s dining table, her enjoyment of Caitlyn’s frustration as clear as day.
Caitlyn thinks she needs more sleep, or someone to shake her, because she unfortunately thinks this back and forth is… doing it for her. So she ignores the way her cheeks flush, her stomach tight and her jaw tense, as she grabs her leftovers and leaves the kitchen.
(She has unfortunately already indeed thought about banging this drummer.)

“I’m just saying, we could both get something out of keeping this up.”
“It has to be a concussion,” Caitlyn murmurs under her breath.
Vi rolls her eyes at her dramatics, picking up her bag and throwing the strap over her shoulder before hopping out.
Caitlyn leans her head against the rest behind her, closing her eyes and clenching her long digits around the leather wheel.
Vi leans back down into the car, her hand on the roof as she pokes her head back in. “You don’t have to give me an answer now. Just… think about it.”
She finally shuts the door, leaving Caitlyn to do what she does best.
Caitlyn takes a while to pull away, but as soon as The Last Drop’s door shuts behind Vi, she’s gone.💌💙💘💌
Caitlyn and Vi are trying to juggle responsibilities, insecurities, family issues and their futures all at once when Caitlyn's old love letters accidentally get out and show them a new way of living.
