Grian raised a brow. “Is something the matter?”
At the sound of his voice, a small change crossed Scar’s face. He relaxed a bit, mouth pulling into a polite smile. “Well, if a good kisser is all you need,” Scar said. “I’ve never gotten any complaints.”

Summary
Grian shifted the way he was sitting so he was closer to Scar. A knot curled tightly in his stomach as the two made contact. He could feel Scar's leg pressed into his back just below the base of his right wing.
A beat of stillness passed between them before Grian felt Scar’s knee move, the bed creaking softly beneath his weight. “Just tell me if I hurt you,” Scar said softly.
Grian snorted and bit off a smaller chunk of bread. “If you do, best believe you won't hear the end of it.”
Scar breathed a laugh. “Trust me, I know.”

“… What was that?” Gem stared at him like she had seen a ghost. Her jaw might as well have been touching the cobblestone and her eyes looked about to bulge out of her skull. She had turned about 5 shades whiter.
“Oh, it's Scar’s newest bit,” Grian answered casually. It was definitely nothing that warranted that sort of reaction, didn't even make top 5 of craziest things Scar had done. Maybe not even top 10. He flattened the shopping district overnight just a few weeks ago.
“His newest bit…” Gem shook her head, recomposing herself. “Can you please explain what exactly is the bit?” Before Grian could reply, she added: “From the very beginning, with as many details as possible. What is wrong with you two?”(or: Scar rehearses to get the best love confession)

To be clear, it was a favor forged out of mutual interest. Either side had something to gain from this deal. There were zero other reasons why Scar might’ve accepted Grian’s invitation without really considering it. Zero.
It didn’t matter that Scar had been too distracted by Grian’s mischievous grin to catch his question at first. It didn’t matter that his stomach had practically launched into his throat when the words actually did register. It didn’t matter that they were the same ones he’d fantasized about hearing for the better part of two years now.
“Scar,” Grian had said, dangerously earnest. “Go on a date with me.”

Since they were little, Mike and Will would have sleepovers in the basement when the whole party was over, but the nights when Dustin and Lucas (and later Max and El) were busy, they would sleep up in Mike’s room. It started when they were small, small enough to fit comfortably in Mike’s double bed without getting too much in each other's space. Or that was the idea anyway. But time and time again Mike would wake up with their legs tangled up together.
He would even sometimes wake pressed up against Will’s back, arm around his waist like they were spooning - but he refused to call it that. Because if he called it that, he’d have to address all the other ways they touched that best friends maybe didn’t do. Based on the song "Nice to meet you" by Myles Smith, which is number 12 in my Spotify Wrapped of 2025.
This was originally meant to only have one part, but now I'm considering continuing it, since it already got like five times as long as I wanted

The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”

Grian… supposes that makes sense, considering how little he knows about vex magic. He just doesn't understand why anyone in their right mind would want to be cold all the time. He also realizes the flaw in considering ‘Scar’ and ‘in his right mind’ would ever belong in the same sentence.
Or,
Scar is Grian's living heater and they try (and fail) to cuddle like normal people.
