He also decides if he's going to ask Ilya to be with him, to give up Russia, then he can't also ask him to give up his team. He decides to reconnect with Ilya at All-Stars, not knowing that Ilya won't be there because his father, brother, and sister-in-law have died, leaving him as guardian of his niece. Oh, well. He'll just say hi to him when he gets to his first Boston Raiders practice.

Summary
Shane travels 493 kilometers to say sorry even if Ilya doesn't forgive him. He needs to say it, he needs to see Ilya one more time.
By the time he arrives, he is tired, anxious and something hurts (emotionally and physically).At 1:50 in the morning, he enters the security code, which thankfully Ilya hasn't changed in months.
At 2:00 he knocks forcefully on the man's door.
It's 2:40 in the morning when Shane begins to recite the words he's practiced so much in Montreal.
and by 6:00 am he has a baby in his arms and a love confession from Ilya.

Shane travels from Montreal to Boston to say sorry to Ilya. He arrives with an apology and leaves with a surprise baby. One or two love confessions later an a marriage proposal, Shane and Ilya finds their place in each other arms. Now they just have to face the world, but that's easier, so much easier than admitting their feelings.

Rocky finds a new marking on his arm similar to Grace's scar, and Grace finds markings similar to Rocky's on his arms and legs.
Rocky begins to dream and can easily wake from sleep, and Grace can stay up for much longer than a normal human should.
Grace starts seeing sound when it's too dark to properly see, and Rocky starts seeing pops of colour in his sound vision.
Neither can understand what's happening to them and how they're seemingly linked together, but they know there's nothing in the world that could tear them apart.

Instead, he got an injury that ended his career before it even started and a life that’s been quietly built around not thinking too hard about it.
Ilya Rozanov did go pro.
Which makes it particularly unfortunate that they’ve just woken up in each other’s bodies hours before a game.
Even worse, Shane is now expected to play in front of thousands of people using a body he's only ever seen on phone screens or TVs, all while trying to stave off an impending mental breakdown and come to terms with a version of Ilya Rozanov that's much different than his public persona.
