Summary
The first time it happens, Bruce doesn’t do a great job at hiding his surprise. It was only a couple weeks after Tim’s adoption was officially finalized - hyphenated name and all. Bruce still smiles to himself at the memory of reading ‘Timothy Jackson Drake-Wayne’ on those papers, trying not to choke up at his third son being the first to take the Wayne name. Of course that was never an expectation, but still, it meant something that Tim chose to take it.
With that considered, perhaps Bruce shouldn’t have been quite so shocked by the teen calling him ‘Dad’, but he is. And he’s even more startled to hear it declared loudly as Tim abruptly sprints towards him down the hall at full speed.
“Dad Test!”
Or
Tim starts a trend in the family of jumping at Bruce at random, increasingly difficult times shouting: 'Dad Test!' to see if he'll catch them. This leads to many shenanigans & then crash lands into angst because of course it does.

No no no no-” He used his other hand to comb through the fur a little bit, ending with the limb holding some of the hair out of the way so he could see directly down to his skin. Just as he horrifyingly expected, he found dozens upon dozens more of the black dots all cohesively moving together.
Fleas. Fudgesicles.
Wolf worked his tail off trying to get his friends the respect they deserved. He never expected them to return the favor for doing what was right. But he also never considered that they might have wanted to do that anyway.
