Summary

One could even say that if Tom had a nickel for every time he’s shot a tranquilizer dart at a space hedgehog that snuck into his garage, Tom would have two nickels, which isn't a lot! But it's weird that it happened twice.
Shadow might have survived being atomized by the Eclipse Cannon's explosion, but that doesn't mean he got off scot-free.

It’d been a month or so since…everything happened—and Sonic’s nightmares had shown no sign of granting him mercy. Sometimes he would jerk awake in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, gasping for breath; other times, his eyes would snap open and he would be gripping his blankets with trembling hands, as if his body wanted to reach out and save Shadow.
Today, he woke up feeling completely numb all over, his muzzle drenched from fresh tears. The morning sun was just barely rising over the horizon, streaks of light peeking through the circular window on the ceiling and bathing the floorboards of the attic in warm orange.
How cruel was it that mornings were so beautiful when Shadow couldn’t be here to see it?
OR: Shadow isn’t dead. Sonic just doesn’t realize it until he catches Shadow on the Wachowski’s security camera, sneaking into the house night after night.

Summary
Based after Ending E: the [E]nd of YoRHa.
After 9S and 2B are restored and awake, they learn that Hostile Machines are still lingering about, but not in such large quantities. Their purpose was restored: To protect what was left of the world.
Relying on Anemone to provide information to them once again, they learn of Machines attempting to...reproduce due to a virus. It's not deadly, but very uncomfortable to the person infected.
They take the quest and move onward expecting it to be easy, only to become infected with said virus.

The irken seemed conflicted. Dib felt really strange around Zim, it’s like he wasn’t his entire self. As much as he wanted to press, the alien would only snap at him, Dib knew that. He just hoped this attitude wouldn’t get in the way Friday night. He really wanted to show his father that he wasn’t under his control, not now.
“...I can pretend to be a mate for the Dib-thing tomorrow night, at the reinstatement of my freedom.” Zim’s eyes narrowed. “Then, you will leave Zim be.”

It had been nine years since Dib left to work under his father. Since then, Dib has been a miserable bachelor, the colors of life fading slowly. When he goes home, he suddenly decides to seek out his old childhood rival Zim in hopes for closure, or anything, really. Anything to make him feel again.

If things don't go to plan, Resisty Agent Dib can usually rely on his partner and best friend to swoop in and save his ass. When Dib survives a mission by the skin of his teeth and finds himself with nothing left of his partner but a PAK that he can't seem to let go of, he'll need to look within in order to figure out how to do the impossible.

Dib realizes he has a crush on Zim, doesn't know how to deal with it in the slightest and tries to completely ignore it and play it off despite it being so blaring obvious, making him more avoidant and dismissive.
Meanwhile, Zim is incredibly suspicious. Disturbed by the thought of the Dib swept away by someone else, he plots to eliminate the problem, if only he could figure out who that problem is.
A two-shot about two losers dealing with their (assumed) unrequited pining.

Summary
Bad nights happen sometimes. That's normal, Dib's been through them before. The easiest solution to fight the nightmares is to avoid them completely. Simply don't sleep. Easier to do when you have a distraction, especially if it's in the form of an alien Invader who's got this brilliant idea to kidnap you, fly you out to the middle of the solar system and not be entirely truthful in his reasoning for it.
Dib is exhausted, Zim is being vague and Gir is currently chewing on some questionable objects.
