Summary

The year is 1890. Connor Stern has been shipped off to newly incorporated Prescott, Arizona, to track down a renowned and evasive raider gang on behalf of local mining interests. His partner in the case is the completely incalcitrant County Sheriff, who’s far more likely at any one time to be finding his way to a bottle than a bandit. His target? Feared outlaw Markus, a man who’s growing increasingly eager to introduce Connor to the business end of a six-shooter gun.
But Connor’s in luck, because as it becomes evident to all three men that the solutions to their problems are fortuitously linked, Markus must consider the possibility that his headhunter might just have more potential to him as an ally than a corpse.

There were a lot of reasons Nursey was glad he wasn’t white. Subtle blushing ranked really high up there. “I, uh,” he started.
Dex shook his head at him. “It’s okay, I was kidding. I appreciate the suggestion but I know you weren’t offering—“
“I would,” Nursey heard himself saying. Which he’d always thought was a dumb literary convention, but here he was, words coming out of his mouth without his useless fucking brain’s influence at all. “If you actually want me to, I would.”

Summary
Before the start of the year, Nursey had a few ideas about how he and Dex would make sharing a room work.
He imagined rules about socks on doors, about texts warning of visitors. He pictured an allotted quiet time so he could get some reading done. Nursey imagined weekends rooming with Chowder to give Dex time to cool off, or weekends with Dex rooming with Chowder to give Nursey some space. They were better than they were as frogs, and even better than the year after that, but they still weren’t great. Nursey anticipated a lot of pushback, a lot of struggle.
He didn’t expect them to start having sex?

Summary
Thinking of Nursey as good-looking is a completely normal response to seeing him in the low light of the Haus, shirt rumpled from dancing on the coffee table earlier, eyes shining brighter than Dex has ever seen them off the ice, and an easy grin on his lips that reveals a flash of straight white teeth. It kind of looks like Nursey cares about something for once and it looks good on him. Objectively.
That doesn’t mean anything.
A hand clasps his shoulder and rips him out of his thoughts. The music—some song from when he was in middle school that’s most likely Holster’s fault—shifts back into focus and he realizes Nursey and Shitty are still standing in front of him with expectant expressions on their faces.
Nursey has his arms crossed over his chest, his shirt pulling tightly over his shoulders. Dex doesn’t dwell on it.
“Sorry, what?” he asks as his cheeks start to burn.
Or, five times Nursey chooses Dex and one time Dex chooses Nursey.

Summary
Within half a second, Dex is wide awake.
He pats Nursey’s shoulder a few times where his hand can reach it. “Nurse, wake up.” Nursey just grumbles and burrows deeper into Dex’s chest. “Nursey, you have to wake up, this is important.”
Nursey makes another unwilling noise. “What could be so important at, like, seven in the morning?"
“It’s ten,” Dex corrects, “and the team knows. About us.”
That gets Nursey to lift his head and look at Dex, a confused frown pulling at his eyebrows. “What? How?”
Or, seven times Nursey and Dex's kisses end up in pictures, and one time they don't.
