Why does the afterlife smell like shoes? Nandor will soon find out...
The housemates are at it again with their bickering, prompting Nandor to flee the scene for some peace. Peace is the last thing he gets, though, as his rotten, no-good, very bad night continues with a rain storm, a cat attack, and waking up in a shoebox.
The good thing is that he may have solved the dilemma of their Familiar problem, but it comes in the form of a 17-year-old Panera Bread boy who has an unhealthy obsession with vampires.

Guillermo’s been getting a lot of attention since he came back from England. Nandor’s not jealous. He’s not! He’s just annoyed that all these vampires are bothering Guillermo. And maybe a little upset that their relationship isn’t quite what it used to be. Just a little.

Summary
"Finally, Adolfo tasted the fruits of his labor, that burst of salt on his tongue and the distinct hardness of Matthew's—"
Guillermo snapped the book shut and threw it in his bedside drawer, slamming it closed. He lived alone but still felt exactly like when he was a kid, hiding his beat-up copy of Interview with the Vampire.
It didn't matter, anyway. He knew exactly what happened next in Nandor's book, had read it maybe four times now (just in case he'd missed something those first three times).
Nandor writes a priest-vampire erotica book. Father Guillermo finally snaps after reading a priest-vampire erotica book. This is a love story.

Summary
Back in the cool night air, a few snowflakes were beginning to dust the sidewalk when he noticed a familiar smell wafting through the air. He found himself unconsciously following it, like some sort of ridiculous cartoon character. He couldn’t remember why it smelled so familiar, but it tugged at something so deep in him that it made his chest feel tight with excitement. He just had to know what it was.
The smell lead him a short walk down the street, right to the front door of a small bakery he’d never noticed before.
Memo’s Bakery, read the lit sign out front.
He pushed open the door.
_____
Guillermo was just beginning to pour the glaze over his latest experimental bake, a batch of Persian love cakes, when the bell at the front jingled, alerting him to a customer’s entry. Shit, he must have forgotten to flip the sign over to “closed” again. He looked up, about to apologetically tell them that they were actually closed for the night, when the words caught in his throat and died before reaching his tongue.

Summary
" Guillermo met his eyes across the courtyard, and for a moment the human was grave and resolute as a warrior in battle, resigned to his fate yet defiant to its circumstances. For a moment Nandor imagined this meeting as the start of a war rather than a courtship, and for that moment he felt as if he'd found his footing again.
But then the human had done something outrageous.
Then the human had smiled. "
In the end, when all was said and done, the marriage of Nandor the Relentless and Guillermo de la Cruz would be remembered as a pivotal and defining moment in the history of human and vampiric society alike.
In the beginning, however, it was mostly just a mess.

“What is it? What do you see?” Nadja asks, while holding her husband's right arm.
“There’s a ghost inside the mirror” Nandor explains to them, pointing at the figure with his finger “and he’s imitating me. Fucking guy, that’s very immature.”
“A ghost?” Laszlo echoes, uncertain, sharing a worried look with his lady wife.
“That’s not a ghost, master. That’s your reflection.”or, Nandor's attempt to be human again actually works (sort of). obviously, he has a propensity for accidents; Guillermo struggles to keep him alive (nothing new)
