Summary
Merlin isn't the first servant Arthur found a friend in. The daughter of one of his childhood nannies, Eira, has served as his maidservant her entire life. When Merlin is appointed as Arthur's permanent manservant, and the assignment goes well, Eira is reassigned - only no one asked for her to be reassigned.
Eira's life spirals out of control, the new knights start to take advantage of their station, Merlin decides he needs to protect her, and Arthur is determined to figure out what's happened to leave a bad taste in his mouth without knowing Eira's been reassigned. Summary
Second work, the first is King Emrys of Oplaria, so please go and read that first, spoilers after this.
Agravaine has been defeated and so has Morgana, Camelot is safer than ever. While Arthur and Gwen plan their wedding Merlin sets off on a journey to save Morgana from the Tower and heal her.
