Arthur and John wake up on the merchant's cart, where they are promptly dumped in the desert. They run into the horrors that chase them into a familiar face. Now our cast of characters has to struggle to get home and, along the way, identify what home even is.
"John," Arthur grabbed John's elbow, his eyes carefully levelled at Yellow in the dim light. "He clearly doesn't want our help, and Kayne isn't here. Maybe we should leave like—"
"Arthur, look at him. He's chained down. We can't just leave him—"
"Yes, you can."
"—when it's about to be dark." John worried his lip as he glanced out the door at the light that was a minute from being gone.
"I summoned a Byahkee, and when it gets here, I will command it to eat the two of you!" Yellow snarled, the continuous rattle of struggling chains filling the room. "It is in your best interest to leave me here."
"You remember how to do that?" John asked.
"You don't?" Yellow snorted again.

Summary
When Lanyon is inflicted with a curse that will kill the person he loves most, he finds himself in a race against the clock to save Jekyll's life. In an act of desperation, he turns to the person he hates the most to trick the curse into believing he is in love with them instead while they search for a cure together.
If they die then all he loses is his worst enemy, if they find a cure then all's well that ends well. All he has to do to pull it off is trick the entire society into believing he is in love with Edward Hyde.
It should have been that simple, if it wasn't for the fact that Lanyon is Lanyon and Hyde is so very, awfully, Hyde.
If one thing is for certain, it's that the society won't survive the two of them combined.

To find people like him, people marked by the sinister beings and forces that lay restless, jaws spread and drooling, at the edge of our world. To find them and to help.
