Summary

When he comes home for summer after his fifth year at Hogwarts, he finds that his mother is dead and his father is missing. To top it all of, some two-hundred-year old contract between the Princes and the Blacks states that Severus has to marry Sirius Black before his 19th birthday.

Since Lucius had long ago secretly decided to put the happiness of his mate about anything else. He isn't willing to enter the ranks of the Death Eaters, which had been one of the conditions for marrying Narcissa Black, nor handing his mate over to them. Cunningly he had secreted away his trust fond under a new identity in Asia. He will retrieve Severus and move with his little serpent abroad. Lucius had chosen Asia, because of their magical education and opportunities for his young lover, as well as for the little bonus, that sexual relations are allowed, as long as one of the partner is of age and the other at least 13 years old! He had promised Severus to wait, until he turns 16 for their wedding, after all he has still to teach him so much.

After discovering his secret - Severus is a male bearer on the 20th October 1975, as James saved him. James had developed a plan to make the elusive snake his. 3 weeks, on the 14th November 1975, later Abraxas and Lucius Malfoy came to Hogwarts to inform the school, that Severus had successfully taken his OWLs (10 O's & 2 A's) and will be transferred to a public school in France to finish his schooling in peace.
James is furious and planned to attack Severus and to abduct him during the night. He had everything prepared, already. Nothing and nobody will be able to stop him now.

In one world, Severus forced himself to ignore her. Lily had seen through all his lies. She had made it clear that, no matter what history they shared, she didn't want a Death Eater for a friend, and he'd already taken the Dark Mark. But in this world, the beginnings of a desperate plan filled his mind.
Later that night, Lily found a parchment crumpled into her pocket. It contained information on a raid planned by the Death Eaters, and a shaky half-crown that she recognized at once.
Or: Severus decided to turn traitor long before the prophecy was ever spoken. He lost Lily anyway, but the rest of the war went off the rails.
