Summary
A few years ago, the peculiars lost the battle in the library of souls, and the wights succeeded in taking over Peculiardom -and by extension, the world. After a resistance group managed to defeat Caul and his dictatorship, Peculiardom struggles to rebuild under the reinstated Ymbryne Council, with Alma LeFay Peregrine at its lead. Alma, haunted by the trauma of her enslavement and abuse during Caul’s reign, finds herself increasingly unable to meet the demands of leadership.
During this time, an alien civilization from another universe, known as Paradis, makes contact with Peculiardom.
As part of the diplomatic exchange, Alma meets Muad’dib, the leader of Paradis’ peculiar nation. Muad’dib quickly perceives Alma’s inner struggle and offers her an alternative path: joining the Bene Gesserit, an influential and highly disciplined sisterhood unique to Paradis, renowned for their mental and physical mastery.
Alma accepts, stepping away from Peculiardom’s immediate political struggles to begin her training within the Sisterhood.
