Brock Rumlow wakes up alone in deep space, 30 years into a 120 year journey. The 5000 other people traveling along with him remain soundly asleep in their cryo beds, while Brock endures an inhumane solitude. Though he toughs it out as long as he can, it finally dawns on him that he can't survive the rest of this journey alone, but what he needs to do - waking up another passenger - is as terrible as committing murder, cursing them to the same life and death in space as himself.
tldr; read ahead for psychological horror that shifts into space thriller with a wholesome happy ending.
