Summary
This is an extended character study covering the relationship between Andrew and Aaron Minyard before, during, and after the books. They literally deserve the world and are so near and dear to me guys. I wanted a study that showed the mindsets they each had going into the books, and behind all their interactions. Despite being twins, they speak different languages to each other for so long, there are so many misunderstandings because of their different mindsets that make their interactions so layered.
Also, Aaron is such a misunderstood and under-loved character. He deserves the world and I so hope that I am able to do him justice.
And finally, huge shoutout to forgottendiaries for inspiring me to write this, being such a good beta, and ranting with me about the those funky little sports gays.

Summary
When Neil was fourteen, his father caught up to them in Seattle and he got separated from Mary. Unfortunately, neither of them escaped unscathed, but they did escape despite all the odds. They manage to reunite at one of their emergency rendezvous and take off running.
That's where their luck ran out though because they only made it to California before Mary's injuries finally bested her. In the end, his mother couldn't go on but she made Neil promise to keep running because one of them had to make it. With no other choice, Neil burned her body, buried her ashes on the beach, and did what he had promised.
Then, impossibly, things went from bad to worse — After a month of just sort of drifting in his grief, Neil found out he was pregnant.

Summary
Sam Josten or Wesninski? The dilemma echoed in Nathaniel’s mind. Wesninski carried ties to his father, while Josten linked him to a nonexistent individual. Neither option seemed fitting for a newborn, although being born into Nathaniel’s family should have provided insight what the baby’s future might entail.
Still, either option was better than Sam Moriyama; the future Nathaniel had avoided altogether by running before his birth.
