Hobie lets Miles wear his jackets and bundles him up in them on chilly nights. There’s at least one full sketchbook full of his face, his hair, his profile, his guitar, his thin, deft hands, everything. Hobie is one of his best friends, which is why it is horrible and terrible that Hobie has to see him like this, right now.
“You can’t be here twenty-four-seven, dude,” Miles says. “That look ain’t gonna work on me.”
“What if I want to?” His thumb, tracing Miles’ jaw. “Would you let me, if you could?”
Miles gets a nasty injury during a routine night as Spider-Man. It isn't a big deal until Hobie Brown climbs in through his window.

It’s not like your derby rider was that pretentious about – ”
Zooble cut themself off and went very, very silent.
Pomni’s mouth went dry. Dryer than it’d been even after a stress of time without real water. She watched, scared for a reason she couldn’t place, as both of Zooble’s detachable eyes widened. She could have sworn that their hot pink face turned almost salmon for a quick second before returning to its original shade. They set down the tablet and turned.
“Ragatha,” they said slowly, “why does the catalogue of NPCs include a mock-up of Jax?”

It’s been officially five weeks since Pomni attended an interview at Spudsy’s. Four weeks since she got hired. Three weeks since her first shift. After around 90 hours of part time work, she can confidently say she hates working at Spudsy’s.
Pomni normally wouldn’t choose to work at a fast food chain but Spudsy's was her last hope. Between drowning in student debt and her boyfriend wanting to move into another apartment, money was something Pomni desperately needed.
The hiring process was quick and Pomni got hired on the spot, which was a red flag that she chose to ignore. She thought the horror stories on r/Spudsy were just exaggerating—it couldn’t be that bad, right?
