Summary
After his Agni Kai, Zuko flees the Fire Nation without Iroh or his crew. He finds himself stranded, alone, and injured in the Earth Kingdom when taken in and raised as a healer and farmer by an Earth Kingdom couple. He finds new ways to use his bending and to influence in the changing of the war with new understanding of himself, his bending, and the war. As someone with new perspectives and influence he is able to provide a greater understanding of being a teacher, warrior, and friend when meeting the gaang.

Yes. Steve thinks. Sugar. Must go get Bucky a Coke. He walks to the other wall on rubbery legs, digs out two cans. Walks back. Bucky’s eyes are closed, head bent back at an odd angle. He looks like someone snapped him in half. Steve. Steve did.

They have never kissed like this. And Steve remembers every kiss: the secret stolen ones; the rushed and laughing ones; the crying, biting ones. He has both hands in Bucky’s hair now, pulling him in, trying to softly steer him. But Bucky is unwieldy.

Summary
When Tony made an off-hand comment about adopting a child, he never expected Steve would jump on the idea so quickly. He definitely didn't expect to adopt two kids. And even if they did expect to love them dearly, they weren't ready for the fierce protectiveness that raged within them for their boys. They couldn't save them from the past, but they could protect them from the future and whatever dared to threaten their safety.
Through fostering Harley and Peter, Steve and Tony learn a lot from them, who have experienced more than any child ever should. But they have something to teach the boys themselves: family doesn't end in blood.

Summary
Caleb’s running a fever by the time the rest of the Mighty Nein find him.
He was expecting that much – he’s done this before, after all, knows that it’s a bad idea and will not go well in the long run. However, bleeding out in the middle of a forest is also not a good idea, and will also not go well in the long run. The difference is that bleeding out in the middle of a forest will go exceptionally poorly in the short run, so it’s a lesser-of-two evils sort of thing. He’s well-versed in Faustian bargains, made both unwittingly and otherwise. It’s fine.
(In which Caleb gets separated from the rest of the group, and then injured, and then some rather ill-advised DIY field medicine involving fire. The rest of the Mighty Nein are left to pick up the pieces when they find him.)

This story focuses on Caleb, as the latest addition to the group, recently recovered from a police raid into a countryside home, owned by one Trent Ikithon. He now must learn to navigate this new group, new hierarchy, new rules without failure- for he knows pain what failure brings.

After committing treason, Zuko spends months in prison, and even after both his father and Azula go missing, the guards can't coax him out of his cell. And then the Avatar shows up. How's the Gaang supposed to talk to a Fire Lord who doesn't even believe he's the Fire Lord?
