Summary
Frank Iero has lost himself somewhere between the breakup and his forty-hour work week, so he takes a spontaneous trip to Weybridge, a quiet town tucked away in the forests of Vermont, hoping to rediscover himself through solitude and nature. There, he meets Gerard Way, a friendly yet reclusive man who offers his attic for rent. Polite, hospitable and always wearing the same sweater with animated ducks.
At first, the arrangement is ideal. Gerard cooks for Frank, provides conversation and encourages him to live simply. Until Frank notices something off about Gerard. Whether it be the ominous clank of a typewriter, the peculiar taste of Gerard’s home cooked meals, his passion for religious conspiracy theories, or the rearranging of his room while he sleeps.
When Frank discovers the truth, his peaceful retreat spirals into a fight for survival in a story he was never meant to read.

Gerard could reveal his secret, but in the meantime, he’ll enjoy Frank’s attention and wealth. Until Frank discovers the ‘lady in his life’ to be a man.

Gerard Way is a serial killer who is trapped in a single white room in a mental institute. He cannot stand another day there, especially with the cruelness of the caretakers. Over years of abuse, he has gained a paranoid mindset, believing everyone and everything is against him.
Frank Iero is an ambitious medical student who is doing a work trial at the same mental institute. He believes that everyone deserves a second chance because everyone is capable of changing. He is smart, and caring and isn't afraid to stand up for himself, which is a strong contrast to the other caretakers and doctors at the institute.
Frank's boss, Dr. Parker, assigns Frank to provide help for Gerard. They are both opposites in many ways, but will that stop Frank from gaining Gerard's trust and seeing his true self?

There’s something about how Gerard always hides his eyes, avoids personal questions and is constantly on edge that intrigues him. Frank is going to figure him out — no matter how deep his secrets run or how hard he tries to keep them buried.
