Summary
To everyone else, Karl is nearly insignificant to the wedding, just simply one of the many groomsmen who would walk down the aisle with a bridesmaid and stand below the altar as the groom read his vows.
He would pose for photos, the official ones and the ones guests would take at the afterparty, but those would be the only evidence of him at the event. He didn’t need to write a speech, didn’t need to stand up at the rehearsal dinner and say anything nice or anything at all for that matter.
Still, Karl stands outside and wonders if he should even be there. Because, even if nobody else knows, he knows that being at the wedding is a bad idea. He knows that he’s the key to disaster, a ticking time bomb without a determined clock that starts counting down the second he steps inside the doors. So, he stays in the same spot, letting snow collect in his hair, wondering if he will ever step foot inside the building, if he could ever.
After all, there is a very simple rule: no matter the circumstances, never invite an ex to a wedding.
Karl realizes he's still in love with Sapnap. The only issue? Sapnap's getting married.

A decade in the foster care system was not exactly the start she was hoping for, but it was the life 16-year-old Y/N had. After cycling through multiple foster and group homes, she ends up in the care of Mr.Phil Watson, a British man with one American son, and two British boys. Her longest record for a home is 2 months, and she doesn't think Phil will beat it. Damn these people are weird.
This trope is so cute, and the amount of SBI foster family fics are criminally low. Reader Inserts are nonexistent, so I figured I'd take a swing at it.

But Wilbur is a ball and chain in the middle of the sea, slowly but steadily dragging himself down to the ocean floor with Tommy unknowingly trapped inside his cuff. It’s unfair that Tommy has had to drown with Wilbur for so many years, desperately trying to swim both of them back to the surface. It’s fruitless, and Tommy wonders sometimes if it would be better to just cut the chain that binds them together. To let Wilbur sink on his own, while Tommy heads for air.
He could never do that though; as much as he wants to. He’ll let Wilbur sink them both, and Tommy will swim and thrash as the surface grows more and more distant. Hoping and wishing for a lifeboat. For someone to help them to shore, and to pull Tommy’s freezing body into their warm, loving arms and drape a towel over his wet shoulders.
He thinks Phil might be that person, Techno too. Tommy wants to let them be and he wishes for Wilbur to want that too.
OR: Wilbur and Tommy are brothers in the foster system. Wilbur is struggling with addiction, Tommy is always left to pick up the pieces. But now with Techno and Phil here, hopefully they’ll be able to help. (Only Wilbur does not want help.)

Tommy's father died shortly after he was born. His mother died when he was 10 years old. He gets put into the foster care system for 4 years. He gets replaced and removed from many homes left and right. For neglect, abuse, or the foster family finding a problem with him. He eventually geta moved to Phil's household. Phil is a different type of foster parent. He is more understanding and doesn't try to beat the problems out of Tommy, but he tries to help him. Phil also isn't looking just to foster, but to adopt. Tommy has to relearn everything he knew before, and Phil has to try and earn Tommy's trust.
