Summary
Six months after the events of The Nice Guys, life's going pretty smoothly for both Holland March and Jackson Healy. Going to work, solving cases, pissing a lot of people off, but hey, no one got hurt.
Until one night, Healy drives March home. The sweet, undeniable tension between them finally pops.
"I said I'm serious 'bout takin' you to dinner." Healy says. "You got anywhere you wanna go?"
March exhales. He takes a step back. Looks around, then back at Healy. He smiles.
"Heyyy, aren't you that diner guy?"

Summary
Inside was a dreamscape of candles, and a full, inviting bath. Soft, clean towels had been laid out on the rack to warm and a fluffy robe hung from the hook on the back of the door. March felt his heart clench as he took in the scene.
Holland March is pampered, body and soul.
Set during the events of Turqoise, Opal and Diamond but slightly before Healy proposes. You don’t have to read that one first to understand this one, but it might provide greater context!

Summary
❝… Holland March’s home isn’t a house. It isn’t Los Angeles. It isn’t a bottle hidden in some drawer. It isn’t the vacant lot where a house once stood.
Jackson.
Jackson is home.
What stupidity. What absolute, monumental, unforgivable stupidity.
"Stay with me." Those sound like important words. Holland looks at Jackson’s lips again.
Yes. He should have kissed him at least once. Before this. Before... Before. The word hangs in the air. There is something warm on his cheek. Maybe blood. Maybe just the touch of his partner… ❞

Summary
“You don't think I'd be a good wife,” March barked out, and okay, his words were getting a little soupy, now. Still, he had made it far enough, hadn't he?
“We can talk in the car- c'mon,” Healy nudged him towards the door with his elbow, and March grumbled, wrapping his legs tighter around the stool. The bartender watched from the shadows, and March could see the light flicker from the whites of those greedy eyes, damn it.
“Not until you say I'd be a good wife.”
Healy's back was towards him, and then it wasn't. “I'm not saying that, March.”

Summary
Holland March negotiates his sexuality and preferences while dry humping Jackson Healy.
It was wrong to want Healy because a) Healy was rude and broke his arm, b) Healy didn't even like March that much (he broke his arm!), and c) Healy was old, fat, grumpy, rude, unpleasant. For some reason, running through that list only made Holland harder.

Healy shrugged. "I wouldn't have minded the work. Just never got the chance, you know?"
March worried his bottom lip in his teeth and shifted his weight. Healy opened his mouth to apologize, when–
"We could… if you still want to."
Healy forgot how to breathe.

“Ya ever thought about… trying something new?”
He didn’t have to look to feel the shift above him. To know that Healy was studying him. Maybe he was surprised, maybe he wasn’t.
“You mean in bed?” Healy asked for clarification.
Holland nodded.
Healy let out a rough chuckle at that. “If there’s something you’re wantin, don’t go holding it in. I want to know about the things you want.” His voice was careful. And that was just the thing. Holland didn’t want Healy to be so careful all the time.

Summary
The exit March had his gleaming eye on was two lanes over, and far too close to be reasonable in any world. If they were pushing 70, like they were supposed to be, it would have already been in the rearview.
Healy blinked down at him.
“You want me to cross two lanes of standstill traffic halfway through a job to-” Healy saw the car in front of him lurch forward a few inches, and let his voice drop. “To get you a snow cone?”

Summary
It's been two years since the Nice Guys detective agency was founded, and somehow, March and Healy have ended up taking a case involving missing and murdered patrons of an LA gay bar. Their leads have gotten them nowhere, though, so March proposes something stupid: use him as bait to draw the murderer out, let him think he's roofied March to hell and back, Jackson jumps him in the alley outside the bar, and bam. Problem solved.
Of course, it's never actually that simple, is it? Especially when March has been keeping a secret from Healy for the past two years, one that could get him locked away or killed and Holly torn away from him forever. Especially when he hasn't gotten any better at dealing with the shitshow that has become his life. Especially when he actually gets roofied and things go very, very wrong.
Or maybe it is that simple. Because Jackson Healy is always there, whether March wants him to be or not.
And god, does he want him to be.

Summary
Healy keeps asking March for little favors.
March doesn't mind it. In fact, they're about the only thing he's sure he's good for.
Most of them are small: feeding his fish, passing him tools. You get the gist.
It takes March embarrassingly long to realize Healy isn't asking because he needs the help. And even longer to notice he's being taken care of, until it's too late to pretend otherwise.
Or, the one where March likes being useful, in more ways than one. And Healy, sharper than he lets on, watches March come back to himself, one trivial task at a time.

Summary
March spluttered in offense, but Healy moved the hand on his arm to his shoulder and nodded briskly. With a firm grip, he pulled March away from the others and shoved him into a corner that wasn’t being used to store implements. Healy pushed him against the wall, and a breathy little gasp escaped his lips. March tilted his head to look down at Healy, a pout already threatening to form again.
“Did you see what he said?” March huffed, already crossing his arms and looking past him to glare at the bouncer. “He called me your–”
“Mutt,” Healy filled in and March’s head snapped back to him like– like he’d been calling him. Like ‘mutt’ was his name and he would come when called.
He still hadn’t taken the ears off.

"Look away." Healy raised his gaze to meet March's eyes before turning around with half a shrug. Not being able to stop himself, his eyes traveled back down in the mirror to the magazine covering the other mans crotch. The mirror was dirty and the magazine was still held up half haphazardly with March's broken arm. He really should be able to see his dick. Stop thinking about this guys dick, Healy. Damn it.
"You know there's a mirror here, right?"
March's heart sank. Fuck. He did not need this guy to see his glaring lack of a dick. Why was he even looking? Pervert.
Or; me and my friends are all perverts and thought about Healy fucking March in that bathroom in the bowling alley.

Summary
“The- The goddamn-... baby shit!”
“Holland,” Jackson took a step forward, hands outstretched slightly with his palms to the sky like he wanted to grab the younger man but by the grace of God, stopped himself. He shook his head, expression incredulous. “What the hell are you talking about?”
“Yo-You know! The-The stuff!” Holland shrieked, hands flapping in the air. His lips pulled into a frown as he took a few stumbling steps back, narrowly avoiding falling back into the bed-nest. God, he was a mess.
Jackson glared. “If you say that again I’m gonna kill you.”
“The pregnancy stuff. I-I mean, I’m no James- fucking- Dean, let’s be honest. Holly was a big baby, okay?! My stomach looks like a-a deflated party balloon. I have so many stretch marks, if I went to the zoo, they’d throw me in with the goddamn tigers. And I-...” Holland faltered, and for the first time since Jackson had met him, Holland looked genuinely stricken, as if he had reminded himself of something he’d rather soon forget.
Something he couldn't forget.
