“Hello?” Steve asks, hiding his gun behind him as he steps out into the snow and down the few stairs to the ground level. It is already snowing hard, but it will continue well into the next few days, building up several feet. It’s already five or six inches high, and a light layer of it is dusting the person crumpled up in his alley.
“Excuse me, but this is private property,” Steve says to them, feeling adrenaline start to pump through him at the lack of response. He scents the air and only finds that indescribable smell of cold.
“Sir, the individual appears to be unconscious,” JARVIS informs him.

When a troubling report about the neglect of the academy's mini-farm lands on her desk, Elena dives into the story. Teaming up with the enigmatic Damian Wayne - Gotham Academy’s most mysterious student - she finds herself uncovering more than she bargained for. Together, they investigate the cruelty inflicted on the animals at the mini-farm, and in turn form an allyship of sorts. Or at least, that’s what Damian refers to it as.
Elena’s journalistic motivations lead her down a slippery slope into Gotham’s criminal underworld, riddled with mob families, corruption, and violence. What began as an investigation into the dark side of Gotham, turns into a journey of discovering her own twisted past.

A non-exhaustive list of things I love about this fic:
- Tim having an incredibly complicated relationship with every single member of the Batfam is so important to me. Tim and Bruce existing perpetually in lies & miscommunication
- The slice of life aspects of Tim just being a normal teenager versus Tim being NOT a normal teenager
- The acknowledgement of how much TIME it would actually take for Tim to reach Robin-levels of training. Tim having to come to terms with his lack of training and that being Robin is never going to be an easy journey -

Summary
In a world where Jason Todd survives Ethiopia, Tim Drake still finds a way to help Batman by surveilling Gotham rogues and anonymously informing to the Bats and Oracle. It's a delicate balance, to help the world's greatest detective without drawing too much of his attention, but Tim can't risk Batman discovering his parents' very illegal collection of ancient artifacts.
At least, until his parents begin behaving strangely and Tim's investigation finds him at the center of a plot that threatens the entire city. The only way to save Gotham is for Tim to reach Batman, but doing so means losing everything he knows.

It's not *Tim's* fault Batman slept with his mom sixteen years ago, or Tim's fault that Bruce Wayne regrets signing away his parental rights fifteen years ago, but Jack Drake sure thinks it is. Now Damian is bugging him about cows and family and Jason and Dick won't stop kidnapping him and Bruce is acting like court orders don't matter, like he doesn't have a huge bat-shaped secret to protect from literally the whole freaking world.
Why is Tim the only functioning adult in this situation?
This was supposed to be coated in angst, but it fell in the fluff bucket instead. (So, update, some people are saying this may not be as fluffy as I am advertising it. I plead the 5th.)

“For the record, I totally didn’t send this,” Jason declares, resting his fists judgmentally on his hips and wrinkling the bridge of his nose as he takes in the envelope’s exterior details. “I wouldn’t embarrass myself by printing the address for Wayne Manor in Comic Sans. And I definitely wouldn’t use whatever fresh hell that return address is printed in.”
Taking the bagged envelope in hand again, Bruce moves to the Batcomputer and pulls up the folder of fonts on the system. He glances between the envelope and the sample screen for the font he’d already suspected would be a match.
But clocking the font name gives him a great deal of pause. “Jokerman,” he finally declares in a growl through clenched teeth.
Tim, as it turns out, may not be Jack Drake’s son, but Bruce Wayne’s already got kids he picked out personally. That’s okay though, because Tim’s got a plan for how to deal with this revelation—it’s not like he needs acknowledgement from a second father that doesn’t want him, anyway.

Now, as punishment for his loss, Damian has to walk the runway at a show in Paris while his brothers watch (and no doubt film) the whole ordeal from the crowd. They were going to have an absolute field day and yet somehow Damian didn't seem to mind, especially after his small, but very adorable, designer came in with the outfit he would be wearing down the runway.
