Summary
Stanford and Stanley Pines, freshly sixteen, are flung forward into 1983 after fighting over a half-broken time tape that neither of them wanted to be fighting over. Their relationship, usually so concrete, had begun to strain - and the argument over the time machine gets out of hand. The future is not what either of them expects to find.
Stanford, stranded in New Mexico and utterly alone, finds himself out of his depth when he comes across a much older version of his brother who is homeless and struggling to make ends meet.
Stanley, stranded in Oregon and burned by the broken time tape, has his worst fears confirmed when he finds an older version of his brother who is driven to the brink by paranoia and forces unknown.

“And why should I-” Ford begins to say, anger building ever hotter, before somehow Stanley manages to shock Ford once again. Stan reaches behind him and pushes a kid forward from where he’d apparently been hiding just out of sight.
A kid.
A child, really.
A kid who looks a little familiar. Something about the shape of his nose. It reminds Ford of his mom, in a way. And the hair reminds him of his dad. And Stanely has this kid. That is with him. Right now. On Ford’s porch in Gravity Falls.
“Stanley,” Ford says, in a rush that screams he should’ve finished drinking his coffee before answering the door, “You have-”oOo
Ford's research is interrupted by his estranged brother showing up on his doorstep with a kid who claims to be time traveller. Meanwhile in the present, Stan and Mabel try to figure out how to get Dipper back to the right time. There will be secrets revealed, old wounds readdressed, and above it all a one-eyed demon watches with interest.

Out of all the series to be in, you just had to be in the world where everything feels normal even if the world is close to ending.

It was a lovely day. You swam around in the open sea, a bit further out from the coral reef you called home. Your colorful scales shimmered in the dappled sunlight that came through the water's surface. Your flowing fins waved with every motion you made.
You failed to notice the gentle shifts in pressure. Or the slight change in temperature. It was cooler than before.
(Or Reader ends up meeting a deep sea deity and surviving, thus ensues many more encounters)
