He may have been a seasoned traveller, but this was the biggest disaster he’d seen at an airport in all his years traversing the globe. He’d been there since nine o’clock that morning, and hour after hour had gone by, with announcement after announcement stating a delay, then another, then another.
“If they’re going to cancel it, just fucking cancel it,” he mumbled, turning around abruptly and knocking his large pack against something solid, hearing a loud grunt and promptly turning around to see a body topple to the floor, much to his dismay.
“Oh my gods, I’m so sorry, are you okay?!” He reached his hand down to help the poor woman he’d apparently assaulted. She hesitated before taking his hand, letting him help her back up to standing, brushing herself off, then finally looking him in the eyes.
His breath hitched as he took her in for the first time. She was probably the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen.
