Summary
Despite what some people (Arthur) think, Merlin was actually a great planner. Unfortunately, there's just not much evidence of that due to his true downfall: once Merlin gets involved, his carefully laid plans somehow always go wrong.
Merlin and Arthur knew slowly reintroducing magic into Camelot would be hard, so they made a plan. They thought about where to start, who would be sympathetic, who wouldn't, how fast was too fast, how slow was too slow, and thousands of other issues. For months they strategized and thought of every eventuality.
So when their plans are completely thrown out the window as a Druid boy is thrown into their lives Merlin knew he shouldn't have been surprised.
Hopefully being a good father doesn't require any more planning.

Summary
Arthur has become the King Merlin had always dreamed him to be. He was loved by his people, noble and commoner alike, and was nothing like his father. Slowly he was growing more and more excited for the future Arthur would bring, one where magic would hopefully be free in Camelot once more.
But, for now, Merlin was focused on a different problem. One that held an equal amount of risk and possibility of ruining the friendship they had built.
Merlin was in love with Arthur.

Sometimes love makes being honest more difficult, not less. After Arthur and Merlin tumble into an accidental relationship, does Merlin have what it takes to confess to being a sorcerer? And does Arthur have what it takes to hear it?

Merlin heaved a quiet sigh before whispering, “It’s different, Gwaine. You have to remind him how to show his love for you in the right way, not how to love you in the first place. And it’s dramatic, I know, to have this big of a breakdown over something so small, but…” He trailed off, unsure how to finish.
“But it’s about more than just not going to a show, isn’t it?”
Yeah. It was about more.
Or
Arthur got tickets to a show Merlin and him had talked about going to for years and Merlin was more excited for it than he had been for anything in a long time. So how is he supposed to feel when he discovers that Arthur hadn't even thought to invite him in the first place?
OR
A self-indulgent fic where Merlin is sad, but what's there to be done when no one is really in the wrong? Sometimes things just hurt, even when no one wants them to.

Summary
“Arthur, what? No this is not about me being afraid of him taking more of your time! I’m not… I wouldn’t do something like that! I’m being honest with you, that man gives me a bad feeling! One I’ve long since learned to trust,” He looked at Arthur pleadingly, “One I feel I’ve given you ample evidence to trust as well,” He continued sadly.
Maybe it was just another "silly feeling", but Merlin knew this wouldn’t end well.

Merlin knows something is wrong with Arthur's childhood friend that is visiting, but Arthur refuses to see it. They've survived so many trials together: war, grief, realizing years of lies. Will this be the thing that finally causes an irreparable rift?
Merlin's starting to think it might.

Summary
When he had thought he was reassuring Merlin that he was okay with him being a sorcerer, Merlin had thought he was making fun of him for his feelings. Feelings that Arthur not only would never joke about, but also reciprocated.
Gwaine began to understand that there must have been a giant miscommunication and put his head in his hands, “Oh you fools. You’re both complete and utter fools.”

Merlin lost a bet and needs to admit to Arthur that he might be a teeny tiny bit in love with him. Arthur has been waiting for Merlin to tell him that he's a sorcerer. There's no way they can confuse those conversations. Right? (Wrong.)

I heard 'Crushing Me' from Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies and needed to write a silly, angsty, little story about Merlin and Arthur being dumb.

Harrington stops. Billy watches all the blood drain out of Harrington’s face and there wasn’t much color there to start with. Harrington lifts the bat again, tries to get to his feet, lands back on his ass. “Billy,” he says again, but it’s desperate now, not relieved. “Billy, behind you!”
Four times Hopper doesn't arrest Billy and one time he does.

Hopper. Standing with his back to the gate. Smiling softly, resigned. But filled with so much love.
Joyce. Watching, stretched impossibly thin. Understanding with a sense of grief, too terrible to name.
She turns the keys.
"Steve?" Jonathan is half out of the ambulance, using all of his weakened strength to keep Steve upright. "What's wrong?"
"Hopper. It's Hopper. He's gone." Steve doesn't know how he knows it, but he does.

It was really just his luck that a hulking monster lumbered out of the woods and directly onto his driveway. Just his luck that he threw enough parties when his parents were gone that the neighbors had long tuned out any noise that came from his yard. Just a nice cherry on top of the fucking cake that, even if anyone did hear him screaming when claws tangled in his jacket and pulled, Steve honestly wasn’t sure they’d have cared enough to bother anyway.
OR:
Months before El ripped open the gate at Hawkins Lab, the Demogorgon started ripping tears of its own. Months before it found Will Byers, it found Steve Harrington.
