Summary
Once upon a time in a land far away, there lived a girl in a simple village who bore the name Asha. She and her mother lived a peaceful life in the countryside, under the rule of a royal pair that brought unity and prosperity to all in their kingdom.
Their simple way of life however, would soon change, when Asha finally got the chance to become her majesties apprentice and fulfil her life long dream.
The bright eyed youth, still blinded by her hopes and dreams, soon discovered the dark truth hidden behind the curtain that put everyone, including herself in danger. And thus, with no other option left, she decided to take a stand, even if she had to move the heavens to do so.

Summary
For time immemorial, Light and Dark had always walked hand in hand.
The Light took on the form of an Avis – commonly known as bird – and journeyed through the universe, giving each planet that it passed the gift of life.
However, the delicate balance of life and death could not always be upheld and led many worlds to fall into stagnation which caused the thread to fray.
Anguished by their suffering, the celestial deity passed by one such dying world and shed a single tear of purest light.
And thus, upon it's landing, marked the beginning of our story and the dawn of the Age of Primal Flame.

Mydei remained silent.
It was an all too common occurrence for fated ones to be rejected due to status differences or self-doubts on either side. With such a kind-hearted mer, he did not wish to be the source of his worries or to hurt him in any way. However, he could not deny how his own heart ached when faced with such a possibility, and he loathed to face it now when it was so late.
"Oh Mydei," Hyacine chimed in and clipped on his earring, "believe me, you have nothing to worry about. If he truly is like you said, he would give up his life for you."

So begins Shen Yuan’s balancing act of completing these nonsensical missions, hiding his identity, and staying on the good side of the super tsundere, cat-like man known as Shen Jiu, who keeps saying stuff like ‘I’ll kill you if I find out you’re a demon’.
TDLR; this whole fic is an elaborate excuse to write catboy!SY going into heat.

Symbiosis was a peculiar thing. If he wanted to protect the people residing within these walls that were now a part of him, he would need to keep this hunger at bay, and his wits about him. Even now, Wriothesley could feel the fishhook-like tendrils in his brain twisting and pulling, yanking on him like a marionette, demanding he do their bidding.
If he slipped up, people would die. If he gave up, someone else would have to suffer. Wriothesley needed to turn this stalemate into a checkmate, but that begged the question how. How did one outmaneuver the thing that pumped his very blood, breathed his air and occupied every corner of his mind.
