Melody, who stood up to Life herself, and pleaded before her to pardon the Twins of the Moon for their misdeeds.

“Because you’re you. Because there was something in you that drew us in, and in response we clutched onto it and refused to let go. Because for you we’d shift the tides, or realign the Moon to your desired location simply because you asked.”

Summary
Tommy Innit may not be the most well-behaved kid or even the best person at times, but he certainly deserves better than to be abducted by aliens. Luckily for him, the aliens didn't seem to expect him to be able to break out of the stupid cage they stuffed him in and destroy their ship from the inside out.
Now he just has to figure out where to go from here.

He fumbled with his binder as he took it, eyes wide as he said, “are you sure? I mean, I love poetry and all, but I don’t think-I’m not sure—what if I can’t write poetry?”
Mr. Sam’s dark eyes softened, and he reached out to place a hand on Tommy’s shoulder, squeezing it gently. “Everyone has to start somewhere; every poet, from me to Rudy Francisco, started off without knowing a clue about what we were doing. Tommy, it’s not about if you can or cannot write poetry, it’s about if you want to.”

The words tumbled from the quill at an almost frantic degree, as if they were the last words Tommy would ever get to write. Rushed scrawls and flicks of the wrist in the beaten-down book indicated a sense of urgency, and he couldn’t help but wonder what Dream’s reaction to it would be.
The thought was discarded though as the last dot was marked with a flourish, and something within his chest bloomed.
A story of isolation and reconciliation in the form of poetry.
