Summary
Bilbo Baggins is a gentle hobbit of good reputation. He is the proprietor of his family estate and has a comfortable fortune. He is also unmarried, at the age of 43, and the whole of the Shire is speculating that the vein of wildness that plagues his family line is hindering his chances. In fact, no one in the Shire can understand Bilbo’s refusal of so many proposals from very auspicious matches. But, when a mansion built on the far west side of the Shire is occupied by visiting royals, the Master of Bag-End might just find his perfect match. That is, if prides and prejudices can be put aside.

A place shrouded in rumors and mystery. Especially where its lord and master Sherlock Holmes is concerned. What secrets is he hiding? Where does he disappear to for months on end and what role will John play in unraveling it all?

Hobbits had a connection with the earth, they were born with a piece of land in them. Most hobbits’ piece of land is in the shire, or in a nearby area at least. There are quite a few hobbits in the city of Bree and near the Blue Mountains, but those are rare. Some hobbits- the Landless -don’t even find their plot of land at all, so they pick a land of their own to simply take care of.
There is one special hobbit named Bilbo Baggins, nearing his forties, a confirmed bachelor, who is landless.
Poor Mister Baggins.

Bilbo cannot forget those words as he leaves Erebor with Gandalf, carrying with him something entirely unexpected, something he thought he had lost. When Thorin finally recovers and sets out to repent for his misdeeds under the hold of the Arkenstone, he finds much more than what he was looking for in the Shire.

What could happen if Thorin lived to see the rebuilding of his kingdom and Bilbo remained in Erebor, while both had great hopes that their special connection would reach higher forms of expression and ultimately manifest into the greatest love of all? Will new temptations, such as carelessness and ignorance of others, the magic of the Mountain, or even their own feelings tear Bilbo and Thorin apart? This story takes a close look at their soul bond in a post-BoTFA setting where time flows in strange ways and love crosses the boundaries of this world.
OR: Bilbo inadvertently circumvents the courting process that Thorin is taking patient steps to initiate. Meanwhile, the Arkenstone, which Thorin left in Thranduil’s keeping, has gone missing, and the Elvenking is threatening to lead his army to Erebor, thinking that Thorin orchestrated its theft. If he can’t retrieve the Arkenstone, Thranduil will gladly take the Halfling, whom he has grown very fond of, instead.
Reading Part I of this series is not required.
