“Is not lack of fear.” Illya checks his gun, holsters it. “Is necessary-“

Summary
Illya never meant to cross The Wall.
He had been luckier than most, born long after the war that had divided America, the East still green and fertile, more so now that saltwater distillation had finally been put to use; The West a barren, dusty wasteland, ravaged by the bombs and sandstorms. The canyons pits of sharp rock, the sun beating down on dirt and stone. It was said that one would go mad from heat-induced visions in the deepest parts of that godforsaken land.
No one had been let though when it went up after the war. If you were on one side, then that’s where you were going to stay. Or that’s what his mother said, anyway. It had been before her time. The Wall was almost one hundred and thirty years old now, and it reminded Illya of the Berlin Wall, on occasion. Clearly the builders had been thinking along that line too, because The Wall stood over a mile high and was a quarter of a mile thick.
But Illya’s doing well enough.
Until his father angers the wrong people by doing the wrong things...

Three years they have been trying, and failing, to bring enough fear to the streets to ensure a decrease in crime and murder. No one seems to care what they say or do. And then there is the incredibly blatant issue of not knowing where all the vermin hide. Where the lairs are, where they gather to plot their black designs, where the torture happens. It is driving Oleg and Waverly insane. Sometimes, one can see the muscle jumping in Waverly's eye, the Englishman's mouth a rictus of irritation.
Illya had even gone into deep cover within one of these septic groups of miscreants. He still has nightmares about the young American man they had made him beat to within an inch of his life to prove his loyalty. He had been ready to break cover and run, but nothing came in the way of the mission. Luckily, he had remembered that.

In a city rife with crime and cruelty, a small force of good gathers to attempt the mission of the century: end the cycle of violence once and for all.

Summary
In some ways, it wasn’t a surprise, if only because working for UNCLE never ceased to find new ways of surprising him. He’d come to expect the unexpected, as it were. Privately, he had to admit he kind of liked it. Kept him on his toes. Made life interesting. Ok, maybe the prospect of having a desk wasn’t actually making his life more interesting, per se, but it was definitely a change from the usual.
It turns out that there is one thing about moving to their new home base in New York that completely catches him off guard—one thing that most definitely makes his life more interesting in the most complicated way possible—and that is Illya Kuryakin’s impossibly tiny shorts.
(Or, UNCLE settles into their new headquarters, Illya wears short shorts, and Napoleon slowly loses his mind.)

Summary
Then there’s the apron. On one hand, it makes sense: Napoleon can be pretty precious about his clothes, so obviously he’d want to protect them. Even so, there’s something about Napoleon wearing one that makes Illya’s mind skip like a broken record. The top is too narrow on his broad chest, and the way it’s cinched in the back just emphasizes his tapered waist, like some parody of daintiness that doesn’t fit Napoleon Solo at all. And yet, somehow he looks like he belongs in it, like it’s the most natural thing in the world.
(Napoleon wears a lot of random aprons. Illya never expected to be affected by such things. Or, five times Illya sees Napoleon in an apron and has thoughts about it, and one time he acts on those thoughts.)

“You are stupid man,” Illya murmurs. His fingers tighten, digging into the soft flesh, though Napoleon can’t tell if it’s meant to be a threat or if the movement is involuntary. A conditioned response, maybe. “Not a single instinct for self-preservation.”
Napoleon swallows against the pressure on his throat and meets Illya’s gaze unwaveringly. “Not when it comes to you,” he says, his voice slightly hoarse. “Tell me you don’t want me, that you don’t want this, and I’ll walk away.”
(What really makes a person “dangerous”? Or, 4 times Illya and Napoleon were warned that the other person was dangerous, and 1 when they decided it was worth the risk.)

At first, when Solo referred to himself and Gaby as his "partners", he was confused. As he continued talking, though, and explained that they live together and don’t worry, Peril, this should only last a couple of weeks at most, we’ll take good care of you until you feel better, understanding slowly dawned on him. Partners certainly explained why he woke up to Gaby clutching his hand, only for her to look at him in horror followed closely by anger and bolt out of the room when he had to admit to having no idea who she even was. Of course she was mad, if she loves him and he doesn’t remember her. He would be mad too.
Partners also explained the way they both kept staring at him, a little awed and awfully relieved, and the way they spend most of their time hovering so close to him.
(Or: Illya has amnesia and thinks he understands what is going on between him and his "partners".)

Eddie Munson often wishes he could leave Hawkins, Indiana for somewhere better. He certainly isn't exactly what he looks like but something is keeping him from grabbing all his pocket money and booking it out of there for somewhere much more accepting of his identity. That something is Steve Harrington. Steve Harrington, who has avoided Eddie as if he had some sort of plague. Steve Harrington, the guy that Eddie is secretly madly in love with.
Steve Harrington isn't exactly what everyone thinks he is and Robin is the only one to know. Somehow, his parents don't and its better that way. Steve has been avoiding Eddie for months after the Upside-Down, but not for the reasons anyone thinks. Steve is avoiding Eddie because he doesn't trust himself not to screw up their relationship.
After a graduation party full of drunk and semi drunk people, both find out they share a lot more in common than they previously thought.
