Summary
Tony feels like an asshole.
Which to be fair, he is. He tends towards mild assholery on even his best days. He just typically doesn’t care about being an asshole.
This time it’s different. And he’s finding that he cares. A lot.

Summary
"So, there's a train," Peter begins, shoving a fistful of sour gummy worms into his mouth.
Tony glances at the kid out of the corner of his eye, watching him inhale the worms with a kind of grotesque ferocity that could have rivaled Steve Rogers.
"A train," he repeats wryly.

Summary
Tony glances at the boy. "Who is this kid?"
"Peter," the kid says quietly, "Peter Parker."
"To you?" Fury says. "Cargo."
"I don't smuggle people," Tony snaps. Especially not prebuscenet ones. Especially not ones with dark eyes that look heartbreakingly like eyes from his past.

Summary
Derek Morgan used to dream about being saved.
All those long, wretched weekends suffered at Carl Buford’s cabin gave him plenty of time to daydream. To retreat inside his own mind while Buford did whatever he wanted with his body.

Summary
“Will…” Sokka trails off before clearly steeling himself. “Will your dad be mad? Like, if we get a bad mark?”
Zuko freezes, noticeably so. From hearing about Sokka’s dad and how understanding he can be, Zuko’s not too sure how to play this. He could be honest that, yes, his dad will be furious to see a B, but that will undoubtedly upset Sokka.
“I just don’t want to disappoint him,” Zuko tries. “He’s done a lot for me and I want to prove this school wasn’t a mistake.”
Sokka nods, expression bare. “That’s tough, dude. I’m sure he’ll be proud no matter what, though. You’ve really been applying yourself.”
Zuko smiles lightly, pushing away memories of heat against his cheek. “Yeah, hopefully he will be.”
OR
When Ozai discovers Zuko is gay, he sends him to a boarding school, one meant for children of politicians and soldiers, not business moguls. Despite his rocky place in this new school, with distance from Ozai, Zuko grows and realizes just how much he needs to hide what happens during his trips home. Sokka sees more of this than Zuko wants.

Summary
The team can't quite seem to figure out which of them is Spencer's best friend. A battle ensues, bets are taken, and eyes are rolled.
"Fine, fine, you know what? Let's put some money on this," JJ says, a competitive twinkle in her eye that reminds Derek of the first (and only) time he'd challenged her to a game of pool. "Whoever gets Reid to admit that they're his best friend gets all their paperwork done for them for two weeks. Work split between the losers."
Derek, JJ, and Emily all lock eyes, jaws clenched with a determination that Penelope would find laughable if it weren't so goddamn embarrassing.
"You're on," Emily says first, patting the sticky table hard. "Get ready to be neck-deep in paperwork, you two. I always win."
Derek rolls his eyes. "As if." He gets up from the table and throws down a few bills to cover his portion of their check. "You girls are gonna eat. My. Dust."

Summary
It's always been like this. Always. Sometimes the shape of it will change, but it all comes back to the same thing in the end.
He was different, and people could tell.
“I’m used to it, Morgan. It’s fine.”

Summary
“Hotch?” Morgan’s voice cracks over his shoulder.
With hands he’ll forever deny are shaking, Hotch reaches up and presses two fingers to Spencer’s carotid, even though he can feel him breathing. It’s faster than he would like, but it’s there, and it’s strong. “He’s okay, just unconscious,” he assures his other agent, whose hands hover over Spencer’s back like he’s afraid to touch him.
Gideon steps closer, reaching for one of Spencer’s arms. “Here, I’ll take—”
Hotch doesn’t let him finish the sentence, crouching down so he can hook one arm under Spencer’s knees, careful to keep the other supporting his back, then lifts him slowly. Sleeping people are heavy, and his ageing knees complain as he returns to a standing position, but he doesn’t blink.
Or: After being rescued from Hankel, Reid makes the perfectly reasonable decision to take a quick nap. So what if it's a little sudden and in the arms of his boss?
