Summary
The year: 2022. Hob Gadling faces a lecture hall of students and feels the world change. In another realm, Dream of the Endless makes a deal to save his sibling. For one year, another will hold Dream's memories outside of himself. At the conclusion of this year, both Delirium and Dream's memories will be returned.
Until then, Hob arrives home to find an unconscious Endless in his bed, who remembers nothing of their meetings over the years, or indeed, anything at all. Hob cannot tell Dream anything, because Dream has rarely revealed any part of himself to his human friend. All they have are 6 meetings and a raven to get them through.
At the end of their year together, almost everything has changed.

He learns that he’s something of a king (which isn’t a surprise) and that he missed their appointment because he was trapped somewhere (which is). The rest is cryptic and reluctant, but when Dream implies that everyone he’d ever known had either assumed he’d abandoned them or been too busy to come help him well—
Furious doesn’t quite cover it.
AKA: What to do when your mysterious friend who might also be a god doesn’t realise they feel betrayed.

Summary
Hob has been around death. Living in London throughout multiple plague outbreaks and fires, as well as making a living soldiering and dabbling in banditry, will do that to you. What he doesn't know is that Death has been around Hob as well. He has no idea that when his Stranger left him that night in 1389 after their first meeting, the woman who came up to him, laid a hand on his shoulder and said, “Good luck, friend,” was Death incarnate.
Hob doesn’t know that he is one of few things in this world that has been Touched by Death and lived. Had he known this, he might not have been as confused as he is when his body slams into the floor of a dim, candle-lit cellar and he finds himself surrounded by hooded figures and a gold circle on the floor. That is all he manages to perceive before everything goes blurry and consciousness slips away from him again.
Here in the Darkness.

Roderick Burgess' spell does not summon Death, but someone who has been touched by Death. Hob Gadling ends up in his cellar instead of Dream.

Look, Dream knows he's a mess, in almost every way, but he just came out to Torture Garden to ostensibly have a good time. He didn't intend to have every aspect of his existence turned upside down, inside out, and unraveled. Yet here he fucking is.

Summary
After saving the life of the dragon Death of the Endless, Hob Gadling is given a boon - near-eternal life, same as the Dragon bestowing the gift. He finds himself in the castle of the Endless, serving the very family of dragons (or rather, one in particular) that had gifted him his long life.
Dream of the Endless does not need a caretaker, does not need a minder, but after Hob Gadling has been his Caretaker for more than a century, he has, perhaps, grown accustomed to the human. At least he does not mind Dream's sharp tongue.
Now, all would be well if Dream could, after centuries of looking, find his Rider, his other half, the one destined for him.

Death sets up her emotionally constipated brother and a peasant from the middle ages. Dream doesn’t care for peasants. Hob’s enjoying the benefits of immortality. Neither of them realize just how much they’ve been in each other’s lives. A slow-burn for the ages, featuring twink himbo Dream and a surprisingly emotionally mature Hob Gadling. Be forewarned: both of them are stupid--and in love.
