After the invasion, and their recovery from the invasion, Splinter felt, as the kids would say, burnt out.
His thoughts had flipped back to his kids; their nightly patrols, fighting criminal yokai, college- he somehow felt more exhausted thinking about it. He kept thinking about it. He had mulled it over, pulled out some ideas, added it in, tasted it, and put it in the microwave to reheat. As the microwave beeped, signaling that his leftover tomato soup was done, Splinter decided the idea was worth a shot.
It was time the Hamoto family went on a vacation.

Summary
Sonic the Hedgehog is a soldier in training in the Eggman Legion, eager to get to an actual battlefield to fight their sworn enemy: the Resistance. One day Sonic sneaks out to race with his friend but ends up getting captured by the opposing side. He soon learns what has been taught to him about the Resistance isn’t as black and white as he had believed.
To both his and the Resistance’s surprise, they soon find out Sonic is actually a mythical hero from an ancient prophecy, meant to save Mobius. Joining the Resistance is not easy for Sonic when they have their suspicions of the former enemy. What makes switching allegiances that much harder is that in the process Sonic has to leave his best friend – Shadow – behind. Can the two of them remain friends now that they are fighting under opposing banners?

They talk and realize they have a lot in common. Shredder suggests that they become pals, because they're both lonely and can talk to each other. Raphael agrees, but only while Shredder's recovering. He is still an enemy and can't be trusted.
Shredder plans on using their friendship to destroy Yoshi's spirit and to sever the Hamato bonds forever. Will he succeed? Will Raphael realize what he's up to before it's too late? And if the bonds are severed, can they ever be rebuilt?

Baron Draxum at some point started to see the turtles less as rogue creations turned allies, and more as children he did in fact play a significant part in creating. Trying to form bonds with them and be in their lives is a bit complicated with their history however. Plus, he has one hell of a co-parenting situation to navigate if he wants to try.

Orange wailed in agreement, and to his horror Red looked as if he was going to be soon to follow, holding his own tail, and eyes wide in distress at Yoshi and Orange’s noise. Purple’s face was still buried in Yoshi’s sweater even with the addition of his brothers to the lap, and Blue simply looked delighted at all the commotion, yanking on Yoshi’s sleeve as if to make sure he didn’t miss it.
