He remembered the pain, and the sound of rending metal and shattering glass as the truck wrapped itself around a telephone pole; he remembered the way he couldn’t hear at all out of his right ear, he remembered gagging on his own blood as he lay on the concrete… but somehow he was still here. He was here, in his apartment, alive and well with Wooyoung holding on to him so hard it hurt.
“You, you were there after I got hit. When I was dying. I remember you holding my—holding my hand,” Yeosang faltered, empty stomach roiling at the memory. “I—I wished for someone to stay with me until the end and you showed up not two seconds later and now I’m alive, what the fuck are you?”

The image of John might just change the way everyone sees the unassuming sidekick, even Sherlock Holmes. Rated NC-17 for eventual smut, but the story reasonable concludes before that chapter if you prefer fluff and humor.
