Summary
This is my canon-divergent District Four-centric universe.
It ignores everything about Mockingjay. Plot-wise, it takes the 75th Hunger Games as its point of departure, but since it ignores the backstory provided by Mockingjay, characterization also looks different.
Major departures include:
* Mags is a strategic mastermind who's been plotting a rebellion in District Four for decades.
* The forced prostitution is a lot more limited in scope.
* District Thirteen is much less organized, and there is no President Coin.Mags' Weapon is set when the rebellion is still being planned. Chapters 4 and 5 were rewritten on June 10, 2017. You'll want to reread them if you read this fic before then.
Mags' War is the sequel, an AU to Mockingjay.

Summary
“You could’ve scored the winner,” his dad says, and suddenly he’s right in front of Jamie and cuffing him around the head. Jamie doesn’t say anything, doesn’t do anything, is not even sure he’s breathing anymore, and he’s just thinking that this numbness is sort of nice, when the door opens and in walks Roy Kent.
“What the fuck is going on here?” Roy barks, and Jamie flinches again, but then he realises that Roy’s not looking at him. He’s looking at his dad, and he seems fucking pissed.

After Richmond gets relegated, it's Roy who spots Jamie's dad yelling at him. Unlike Ted, he doesn't walk past.

Especially footballers he's written articles about. Usually, they prefer to yell profanities at him and threaten him with bodily harm. Jamie, though - Jamie just seems to want some advice on how to suck Roy Kent's dick.

Roy reminds himself sternly that he cannot murder their star striker the day before a match. "Just because I'm interested in blokes doesn't mean I'm interested in you."
Jamie looks confused. "It doesn't? But..." He gestures at his face as if it's incontrovertible evidence, then down his body like a closing argument.
Roy cannot murder him. The media would be intolerable.

Summary
The energy of the room shifts suddenly as Jamie’s eyes widen. It’s as though he’s just waking up, looking around quickly to get his bearings straight- as if he doesn’t remember coming to Roy’s house at all. Maybe he doesn’t. When his startled expression finally lands on Roy just off to the side, Jamie’s eyebrows raise even though his shoulders relax. He looks down at the bath again.
“What’s this?” Jamie asks as he combs a hand through the beer head of bubbles on top of the water.
“A bubble bath,” Roy says gruffly. He stares straight forward at the open-faced cabinet in front of him that has piles of fresh black towels on each shelf.
A pause. “You put me in a bubble bath?”

Summary
Walking to the caf for tea means passing the wall of photos from when they won the Premiership, and Roy stops for a minute, like he always does, letting his eyes wander over those familiar faces. Most of them he hasn’t seen in person in years, though they still have group chats and video meet-ups and all kinds of shit that he hates that he understands.
There’s one picture at the very end, him and Jamie Tartt with their arms thrown around each other, laughing next to the trophy. Roy always lingers on that one for a moment, and thinks about how that’s another phone call he could make, and should, and has been putting off for too long.

He remembered snippets, like Jamie taking off his shirt, and unzipping Roy’s trousers with his teeth. He remembered laughing a lot. He remembered being almost dizzy after he’d come, and his vision swirling back into focus to see Jamie raised up on his knees straddling Roy’s hips, stripping his cock fiercely with one hand while he gripped Roy’s wrist so hard he could feel the fucking bones grinding together, and Jamie’s hungry gaze on him the whole time. The way Jamie’s eyelids fluttered, and the pinkness of his open mouth that had just had Roy’s fucking cock in it.
He remembered kissing Jamie, when it was all over. The strange lurch in his belly as he realised they hadn’t done it before, not properly. The way Jamie still tasted of raspberry and vanilla, and kissed like he wanted to devour Roy whole.
They didn’t talk afterwards for a month.
