Summary
Lan Xichen only had one mission in attending the annual Golden Peony Auction: retrieve his family's stolen heirloom artifact. Accompanied by the Nie Brothers and with a little insider from Jin Guangyao, he successfully meanders into the crowd of buyers. Only, when the "livestock" gets brought up to the stage does his blood go cold.
One of the cages reveals a certain person beaten ragged and dressed in chains, his younger brother Lan Zhan.

Summary
The Sunshot Campaign was losing. It was only a matter of time before Wen Ruohan beat them into submission. There were rumours surrounding a force in Yiling that could potentially turn the tide. The place was taken from the Wen early in the war but no one knows by whom, known only as the 'Yiling Patriarch'. All forces that the Wen have sent to try and retake Yiling have been destroyed entirely. If he allied with the campaign then it could potentially turn the tide of the war. A messenger was sent to him asking what he wants in exchange for an alliance.
The response came back: the heir of one of the Great Sects in marriage. For the war to be won, someone must be sacrificed.

The arguing continued and Lan Wangji frowned as it seemed that no one had heard him, until his eyes met his brother’s and saw that his face had gone white with shock.
Nie Mingjue looked between them, “What was that, Wangji?”
“I said, I will do it.” Lan Wangji repeated, gripping so tightly onto Bichen that his knuckles went white.

Some Lan disciples find out about Lan Sizhui's Wen heritage, and Sizhui kills them in self defense. Lan Wangji takes his son on the run, and Lan Xichen does his best to protect them. Everything spirals from there.

Summary
The attack on the Northern Water Tribe goes differently, Aang and the ocean spirit don’t destroy the entire Fire Nation fleet, only most of them.
Zhao escapes, taking Sokka and a few other Water Tribe men as prisoners. Knowing Sokka is traveling with the Avatar he gets sent to Zhao’s “special prison camp” that is hidden near the Earth Kingdom colonies.
Sokka gets a taste of the real war, not the war that he thinks he knows from traveling with the Avatar. While Zhao’s prisoner, he struggles to survive the inhuman conditions. Alone and thought to be dead, he feels himself slowly losing hope.
Seeing a familiar face brings back his hope, even if that face is the scarred Prince of the Fire Nation.
Sokka and Zuko come together to survive and end up depending on each other for a lot more than they ever thought possible.

And if he's had to work increasingly hard not to notice certain things about that friend, so what? It's not like Kiba will ever feel anything in return, so it doesn't matter. It's fine. He's fine. This is fine. It's fine.
Even if it wasn't fine, it's certainly not going to work itself out with a stupid party game. That would be ridiculous.
