“Because he didn’t fall in, Chihuahua.” Other-Raph bared his teeth and Donnie only smirked at the response.
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” He sneered. Donnie leaned forward.
“It means you’re a tiny creature with an astronomical anger management problem-” Before another fight could break loose, the far more mature version of his twin stepped between them.
“That’s enough, you two.”
OR, this is my Rise Donnie and 2012 Raph best friend propaganda. Those two would commit so many crimes together and you can't convince me otherwise.

Donnie wasn’t very good at being a big brother, truth be told. He couldn’t quite get the knack of comforting someone after a nightmare, or saying just the right thing to encourage his little brother. He was much better at being the inventor, or the tech whiz, or the friend Mikey wanted.
But Mikey factored into every decisions he made like a variable in a math equation. How to help him, how to make a giant inflatable suit to protect him, how to grind anyone who was cruel to him into a pulp.
Donatello knew the answer to this one.
“Mikey,” he said slowly, more serious than he’d ever been. “Promise me that when these guys come for us, you’ll hide in your shell and stay there. No matter what.”

Donnie isn’t much of a big brother, but when it comes to Mikey, he’ll do anything.

Donnie could still feel the tentacles against his shell, pulsing and writhing in a horrific loop and squeezing his body until his head felt as though it would pop clean off.
Sickeningly, the phantom feeling of Kraang was almost welcoming. Or, not quite welcoming, but familiar in an... odd way. As strange as it sounded, he thought he had felt this before. Donnie could picture perfectly what he knew was the Kraang, just not the ones he and his brothers faced. Strange robotic men were amongst these memories and yet where did he know them from?
He was sure these visions were nothing to worry about though. After all, they only ever appeared in his dreams. And dreams couldn't hurt you, they were just that, dreams. A fabrication of the mind to entertain itself while you slept.

Big Mama wasn’t entirely correct when she said they look alike, but Michelangelo matches Donnie in a way only another giant mutant turtle could. They both have three fingers on each hand, and two toes on each foot, and their skin is almost the exact same color. Michelangelo seems smaller and rounder, but they’re so clearly the same.
Donnie aches and doesn’t quite know why.
OR, the boys were separated as kids, but somehow make it back to each other anyways.

Mikey’s looking at him. His eyes are searching, scanning him up and down, like a watchdog. Donnie’s in the middle of getting to his feet to work, and he can’t possibly open up to him. It’s stupid. Irrational. Deplorable.
Donnie offers back a pathetic grin. “I’m fine.” The words are quick, seamless. Mikey smiles something bright at him, the answer giving no one anything to think about, nothing to consider. Mikey is busy, busy like Donnie is, and he can’t bring himself to throw another thing onto the youngest brother.
He feels his shell pounding. Flesh ticking like clockwork. There’s no pain, not yet, just brass bright growing stains in his flawless techwear. No one notices.
Good. He’s got a lot of work to do.

He isn’t in the habit of picking up strays and he isn’t about to start now. He remembers enough of a life from many years ago to know that picking up trouble-prone blonds isn’t a habit he ought to be falling back into.
Unfortunately, trouble finds him anyway.
He’s cutting down the side-street that leads to the shop when he hears the sickening sound of fist-on-skin contact, and he rounds the corner to find tall-blond-and-trouble in a literal back-alley brawl with four guys nearly as big as he is. They’re wearing black and white-striped Adidas tracksuits, and Bucky hears at least one of them call the blond guy ‘bro’ in a thick Russian accent.
Bucky’s not going to get involved.
He’s not going to get involved, right up to the point that one of the tracksuit thugs pulls a gun out of the back of his pants and releases the safety, and Bucky realizes that he is going to get involved because he’s not going to let anybody get shot in broad daylight if he can help it.
Fuck’s sake.
OR - escaped, former assassin Bucky Barnes accidentally makes friends with a blond disaster. It goes about as well as expected.
