Summary
The Asset struggles to relearn who James Buchanan Barnes was and what his role is now that Captain America is his Handler. As memories of his life before Hydra reemerge he struggles to understand who he is and how to function. Once he remembers, the guilt of his action's as the Winter Solider threatens to tear Bucky apart. Steve Rodger's tries to be there for his tormented friend through the pain and suffering of his recovery, hoping that his love will be enough to bring them both back together and heal the beautiful, broken man he vows to protect.

Summary
He knows Pain. He Knows Fighting and Killing and Obeying Orders. But then there is Steve. The Winter Soldier struggles to understand humanity, desperate to be more then Hydra's weapon. Yet at the same time the Man known as James Buchanan Barns is fighting to live again and reclaim himself!
This is the first of a long two part tale of recovery and healing! Completely finished and will be updated regularly.
There are some intense scenes and references to past sexual abuse from Hydra but not described graphically. But be warned.

Summary
[ formerly titled "tremble wolf" : never abandoned i just update slow !! ]
Steve moves his arms, palms sliding to cup its cheekbones, thumbs brushing over the deep bags under its eyes. His hands are calloused but they are warm and the Asset is far too warm at the moment but it's Steve touching it and would a leper, no matter how infested by sickness, pull themself from God's hands? No.
or: Steve tracks down the Winter Soldier after the bridge fight, but not in time — he is still wiped and again doesn’t remember him. SHIELD (in an operation spearheaded by Steve) captures him, and amidst Bucky’s drug withdrawals and trauma responses, try to rehabilitate him. Considering himself an it, a machine and nothing more, Steve tries to have a decimated Bucky remember who he is.

Summary
Bucky had been shut down, emotionally. He’d gone through the motions of his day, a technique his therapist had recommended for his harder days, the ones where he just wanted to curl up in bed. He’d drank his coffee, and had a slice of toast for breakfast. He’d put on a documentary, but Steve could tell he wasn’t watching it. Lunch was quiet, with him barely touching his food. By the time dinner had almost come around, Steve couldn’t take it any more.
“What do you need, sweetheart?” he asked, cupping Bucky’s face. “How can I help?”
Bucky’s eyes slid off to the side, his teeth chewing at his lower lip for a moment before he met Steve’s gaze again.
“Need to hurt,” he whispered.
