The stranger looks at the frog in Tommy’s hands. “That’s a beautiful Rana temporaria.”
“I’m sorry, what?”
They grin like they’ve told a joke Tommy doesn’t understand. “Rana temporaria. It’s the scientific name for the common frog.” They gesture to the frog. “It’s got beautiful patterning.”
Tommy looks down at the frog. It’s that weird sort of shade in between green and brown, and there are a few dark splotches scattered across its back. One of them looks a bit like a dick.
He holds the frog out for the stranger to see and smiles. “It’s got cock and balls on its back.”

How he hadn’t before, even in his sleep deprived state, he doesn’t understand.He looks up, eyes wide, and meets the gentle smile of Wilbur Soot. Of his brother, his best friend that he hasn’t seen in weeks, who looks so calm and excited at the same time. Everything about it is so Wilbur that Tommy suddenly feels like something has crumpled in his chest.
Tommy stares at him for a few moments, feeling a bit like a fish out of water, because Wilbur is here. He’s here, he’s at the airport, and he’s standing only a few feet in front of him.

The bell on the door rang as it was pushed open. It was too early for Technoblade’s next appointment, so— without even glancing up— he said, “No walk-ins.”
The footsteps didn’t stop until they reached the counter. Someone cleared their throat. Technoblade raised his eyes to find a teenager glaring at him over the counter.
“No walk-ins,” Technoblade repeated, bored.
“I’m not here for a tattoo.”
“Well, we don’t do anything else,” Technoblade said dryly. This was the most entertainment he’d gotten all day, save for the long appointment he’d had that morning with Dream, one of his most consistent customers.
“You need help,” the kid said with conviction.
Technoblade arched his brow. “I wasn’t aware of that.”
“Well, you do.”
Technoblade examined him critically. The kid was tall but clearly young— the kind of customer Technoblade would double-check the ID of. “Are you even old enough to be in here?”
The kid ignored the question. “You need help around here. And I need an apprenticeship.”
Or, Technoblade is a tattoo artist and Tommy seeks an apprenticeship. The ink of their lives bleed together in unexpected ways.

It was then that the pinching feeling disappeared from his wrist, the same one that was the sole contact between him and Phil.
“What were you doing?” He asked.
“Checking your pulse,” Phil replied.

And that just about broke his friend as the admin fell into Techno’s open arms, his sobs wracking his frail body.
Eventually, after a good five minutes of pained crying that made Techno’s heart clench, Dream sat up straight again, glancing at Techno as he pulled at the hems of his tattered shirt, pulling it off tentatively. A cream colored binder came into view once the shirt (more a rag than a shirt, really) was fully off. Saying it was a binder though, was an overstatement. It was dirty and loose, holes scattered across the entire thing, making it look more like a repurposed wash rag than a good binder.
He noticed the nervous look still on Dream’s face and offered another smile as he took off his shirt in one fluid motion, revealing his own black binder.
“See, you’re not the only one, Dream.”
“How- When- Why- Where-”
“There’s a lot more of us than ya think, Dream. And Hypixel has more than just lethal games.”

Calling himself the Crowfather had been a joke. Honestly. No matter what Sneeg might swear behind Phil’s back, the only ‘children’ he’d had in mind when he’d picked his villain name had been crows, and still only in a metaphorical sense.The point where the problem came in, was when he started collecting actual kids. Like a damn magnet, actually. He didn’t mean to, but they just kept showing up, with puppy eyes and head injuries, and saying ‘oh, Crowfather, could you teach me to throw knives’, and ‘oh, Crowfather, tell me how to control my powers’, and ‘Crowfather, how does it feel to fly?’
Anyways, he never went into a situation intending to keep the little shits. Really, he didn't.

Or: While reading R&J, I came upon the line in the title. Turns out Shakespeare was one of the first to use “angel” as a romantic nickname. The fic just wrote itself.
