Summary
Their bland coexistence is tolerable. Sharing a bed with their backs to each other is tolerable. This? This is a direct confrontation with her present, past, and future, if she has one at all, with no quick exit and no privacy. Aline feels rather like she’s been thrown into deep water without any opportunity to ease her way in.
She unfolds her napkin and places it on her lap. So be it. She can do her best to float for as long as it takes.Aline and Renoir's first anniversary since the fire is rapidly approaching, but their relationship is still tenuous in the aftermath. He thinks of Verso, buried in the cold earth. He thinks of Alicia, a ghost of herself. A better man would have at least considered leaving, compromise—so many things. There would have been a moment, a crisis of faith, where he stopped and saw the insanity of their situation.
For Renoir, the moment never comes. Instead, he says, "Clea, this will all be over soon."

“Our daughter is correct—it should be daisies.” Aline plucked and tossed another piece of the rose. She sighed, staring out over the water. “I suppose I needed more petals.”

Picks up after The Rings of Power Episode 5 and diverges from show canon in several ways. Written because a 20 second scene convinced me that these two needed a lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers story (aka Adar is Celeborn).

Before I was taken, twisted and broken. Believe me, Alatáriel.” His voice was low, and grave, forming her Elvish name with unexpected elegance. He finally met her eyes, and her breath caught at the depth of the pain she saw in them. “There are no two beings in all of Arda who want to see Sauron defeated more than you and I. Why can we not ally together in this matter? I can help you.”
She felt the pull to accept his words, to acknowledge the ruinous bond of treachery that brought them together, but in these new, dark days trust did not come so easily. “Is that why you’ve brought an army of orcs into Elven lands? To help me?”

But mostly it's about Galadriel and Celeborn coming to terms with their upcoming separation.
