Tommy seemed frozen in place at the declaration. Hand caught halfway to his mouth, cigarette burning down between his fingers. Then he was moving again, playing at casual. Resolutely looking down at his newspaper as he smoked, shoulders deliberately relaxed. A very lovely flush was working its way from his cheeks all the way down to his neck.
Alfie couldn't help himself. Wanted to make him absolutely burn with it, all the way to the tips of his ears. Something hot and possessive took root in his insides. "You do. Looking at you, s'like praying with my eyes, innit?"

Sure, he gave Cas a big ol’ hug and blabbered on about how much he’d missed him and how happy he was that Cas was back with them, but he hadn’t really let himself enjoy Cas’s presence or believe that any of what Cas had said before he disappeared was real.

“Another bloody question, Tom,” she warned. He was trying to figure out what she wanted from him, but she was being incredibly distracting. A slow smile spread across her face. “If you’re going to have a boyfriend, I want to hear about it.”
(This started as smut (and is still quite smutty) but it's also turning into a story about Tommy's polycule with Alfie and Grace.)

The words come out shaky this time, almost breathless, the blue eyes piercing Alfie with determined desperation. It is like a kick to the fucking gut, that look, the utter exhaustion suddenly so clear behind it. Because Tommy Shelby staring him down with a mask of tailored indifference and intimidation is expected, almost to the point of comfort. Tommy Shelby appraising him with looks of unnerving intelligence and measured calm, with glints of schemes and even humor in his too-blue eyes, is a given. But Tommy Shelby leveling him with a look so lacking in calculation, so startlingly vulnerable, sends his world on tilt.
I can't stop obsessing about that look (you know, THAT look) Alfie dons before muttering "Good lord, your fucking condition has got worse" so I'm taking it from there, trying to get whatever it is I need to out of my damn head.
