Hunter always liked the quiet of hyperspace.
For many, the blue light outside the viewport might have been too bright and too harsh, but for his enhanced senses, it was always gentle and soothing, bringing a sense of calm to a head that was always so loud. Space is silent in general; there's no sound in space, but there's something about the hyperspace that shrinks the world around you and makes you forget you're actually a tiny speck floating around the vast landscape of nothingness.
Some would call it terrifying, but not him. Because only here, moving faster than light yet staying motionless, surrounded by nothing but the walls of a ship that became home and hearing nothing but its inner workings in beeps and heartbeats, he knew his family was safe.
