Summary
Since December 2038, following the tumultuous android uprising, a shadowy and mysterious man assumes the role of a vigilante during the night in Detroit. He tracks down criminals, whether human or android, helping the DPD in city-wide enforcement efforts. The Detective Gavin Reed, while finding the vigilante known as Midnight intriguing, disapproves of his methods. Nevertheless, duty compels Gavin to pursue and apprehend him, despite the internal conflict stirred by his attraction to the enigmatic man.

Gavin, to whom he has been assigned, will do anything to make life difficult for him. Through hunting a gang of android haters that doesn't even stop when it comes to killing humans they are forced to work as a team. And when Gavin gets caught in their clutches, something new and dark awakes inside of Nines.

“How the fuck did they forget to install morals into a fucking police android?” Gavin muttered.
“Morals wouldn’t keep me from threatening you,” said Connor.
Gavin turned around, fresh coffee in hands. “You just said you’re not threatening me, you contradictory piece of shit!”
“I’m just adapting to your psychology,” Connor explained. “Also part of my programming,” he added.
