Summary
Vivec's pursuit of CHIM did not turn out how he hoped it would. He is given a chance to return to the past to create a better future for his people. Akatosh gives him a gift and asks only that he ensures the "House of the Emperor" does not fall. He becomes the architect of a hopefully better future, at least in his mind--he's not compared to Mephala for nothing, after all.
New hope--for himself, for his people, for all Morrowind. New choices, new alliances...but also new enemies, with old ones whose fury further sharpens.
The Nerevarine he first hears of upon emerging into the past chooses differently than expected. His order to have her followed leads to a misunderstanding and a death too early.
It is a good thing, then, that the next Nerevarine is eager for guidance, because her choices will lead to places Azura is none too eager for her chosen to go.
