"I've mourned for you longer than I had known you."
Gojo Satoru thought he'd be forgotten eventually if death decides to take him.
That's how the life of a sorcerer was supposed to work. No one would know when they would die or when they would last spend their time with their loved ones. People will grieve, they will heal, and they will continue living. He knows his students would cry, curse him for leaving, then grow into the sorcerers he always believed they could become.
The moment Satoru gets sealed, he expected darkness and pile of bones await him on the other side. Instead of such things, he found himself in a place he could recognize and at the same time, couldn't.
Everything changed, and everyone is gone.
Everyone except Itadori Yuuji, who is still alive, still young and wore unbearable grief like second skin, and still carrying the weight of a world Satoru had sworn his students would never have to bear alone.

It’s Gojo-sensei.
A tear rolls down his face before he registers it, shell shocked, it feels like the whole world has been fractured apart. He can not, will not, will never close his eyes.
His heart wrenches and shreds into a million pieces, he can not breathe or move or anything anymore. His feelings wrench through his body in a way that could evolve him into more god than sorcerer if he could maintain it.
He isn’t human anymore.
He can’t be. It’s too painful. It’s too ecstatic.
It’s Gojo-sensei.

Summary
Sukuna is far from being a soft creature by nature, the King Of Curses detested most (if not all) of humanity with his very Core Of Being, but he found he can tolerate certain beings for far longer a span of time then others. But Yuuji was in a category all his own. Itadori Yuuji, his Vessel and Perhaps Something More, was not like other humans he’s come across before. His Daring, to Poke Insults at him lacking any sign or hint of Fear, the use of the term “Brat” came to be used in a tone containing a tad more affection then he’d found himself using in Eras upon Eras.

Summary
It was not uncommon for cursed spirits to manifest within or near school grounds. It was expected, and often monitored, which made the appearance of this ‘Yuji-sama’ all the more intriguing, if only for the fact that it appears to be a rather recent phenomenon. Any older, and such a name would have fallen into urban legend or spread further amongst the alumni and out to the public. Jujutsu Tech should have also picked up on this by now, and perhaps they already have.
Suguru would have to make sure of their involvement before he dared to humor the idea of treading on Sugisawa’s school grounds to witness this cursed spirit for himself.
“A cursed spirit answering to the whims of a bunch of monkeys. Tamed with cheap convenience store snacks and a couple homemade cookies for good measure.”
Suguru shook his head in disbelief.
♦ Suguru stumbles across a rumor of a benevolent cursed spirit accepting offerings in exchange for favors and minor miracles. He fell on his knees and caught himself with his unoccupied hand. He wanted to rip his throat apart to feel relief from the curse inside. He wanted to hurl, and the feeling of his ribs wanting to break out of his skin was not helping. With a glance to his right, to make sure Fushiguro was alright, he let himself pass out.

He won’t let that happen. Yuuji wanders aimlessly, utterly alone and isolated after watching all his companions die, One. By. One. Even Megumi. So when he stumbles upon a cursed object that offers him the feeling of belonging and family he so wishes created out of an ancient jujutsu sorcerer that was just like him, he doesn’t hesitate to make that wish.

When he looks up at the white space around him, all of a sudden hit by a blinding light, he closes his eyes instinctively. But this is not the man who could understand and answer, and Yuuji is only met with sniffled out sounds. He looks down at this child who bears too striking of a resemblance than just those crystalline orbs of inheritance, at the wet cheeks and red nose. Then, slowly, he goes back to the other again. Another familiar face, another mirror. An existing impossibility.

Then, to himself, he chastises.

Itadori Yuuji lives on and the world keeps moving but it gets easier to disappear at least. He ends up closing his eyes sometimes to keep the exhaustion of long constancy at bay.
Then, on a cold, cold spring – a child's cry wakes him.
When he searches for the sound, he finds a familiar face.

He lifts his head in time to see something pass over Itadori's face—a shadow of some kind, an infinitesimal twitch of muscle. "Megumi," he repeats, his voice a low murmur, and Megumi's surprised at how familiar it sounds coming from Itadori's mouth. "Huh. What an old fashioned name."
(Or: two hundred and sixty-six years after his death, Fushiguro Megumi is reborn. It takes a while before either he or Yuuji realise it.)

(n.) The feeling of longing for a home that no longer exists or never was. A deep and irrational bond felt with a time, era, place or person.
It's quite strange, he never thought humans were capable of releasing this kind of warmth. The only warmth he remembered is when the sun is so intense that it almost burn his skin. But compared to the scalding warmth that's emitting from the sun, the warmth from the old human is more gentle and makes the cursed spirit...comfortable.
