“Can you take a deep breath for me?”
He swallows, finally looking up at her. He shakes his head.
He’s breathing faster, panting quietly and hands gripping his wrists tightly.
“Do you know what’s brought this on?”
A nod, hesitant and jerky.
“Can you tell me? I won’t make fun of you, I promise.”
I picked "missing" scenes from some episodes (it'll be obvious which ones, dw), and ran with it briefly. Chock-full of whump, and comfort amongst this lovely found family. Love all around : )

Summary
A (very mixed up) timeline of how Hyde's friends learned about his anxiety disorder, and what they quietly do to help- since he won't ask.
I wrote a one-shot a while ago (now renamed Drop Door), and then got curious about how each character would approach his anxiety. I also really wanted to follow up on Eric's promise (in my one-shot) to help Hyde with his anxiety.
I was inspired to make a whole thing of these just because of my own anxiety and the total lack of helpfulness from my own family when it comes to anxiety.
(aka, giving Hyde the help and love for his GAD that I never got : ) . . . and this why we love fanfic /gen)

He flinches and heaves and bites down a groan. His eyes are squeezed shut, brows crunching into one tight point in his head. Don’t make a fucking sound. His head’s going to burst.
“Sit up for a second. Should take your temperature.”
He shakes his head slightly against his arms, and the horizon definitely does flip, and he quietly chokes on liquid.
He tries to speak, has to clear his throat, and can’t imagine it did much when he rasps, “Sorry. I’m-I’m sorry. You don’t have to do anything for me.”
