Summary
They lay together on the couch, the house strangely quiet. Wriothesley watches his thumb moving back and forth over Neuvillette’s body. Remembers the way his hands disappeared in the bathwater. He wants to think it was just a weird trick of the light, but Wriothesley isn’t in the habit of lying to himself.
Maybe there’s something wrong with him. Maybe Neuvillette’s gift of humanity is unraveling somehow. That’s terrifying. It would mean humanity was conditional or limited by time. Or that something can undo that gift. Something? Maybe someone.
When Wriothesley begins experiencing strange changes, he and Neuvillette must investigate the cause or risk losing each other forever.

By protecting him, the duke is behaving like a dragon seeking a mate, and that has triggered Neuvillette’s own instincts to judge the duke’s adequacy.
When Wriothesley begins acting like a dragon courting his mate, Neuvillette finds himself torn between duty and desire.

Draco would like to say that when Potter barged into his office at nine-thirty in the morning, locked the door, and demanded, “Are you in love with me?”, he sneered back and said something quite clever and cutting along the lines of please, Potter, I know we’re not trying to kill each other anymore but I have the good sense and, more importantly, standards not to throw myself at you or maybe at least I see your ego hasn’t gotten any more tolerable since school.
What he said in reality, though, was, “What? I—what?” He tried again. “Have you gone completely mental?”
A botched love potion makes it so that everyone in Harry's vicinity is madly in love with him—everyone except Draco, that is.

He looks up as he hears the clicking halfway down the street, and when the man walks through the door he has to catch his breath.

Right? Well, no, because apparently, during his ordeal with the Vanishing Cabinet in sixth year, Draco Malfoy found a way to cross into a different universe. A universe where Harry never was the Chosen One, where he is being raised by Sirius and Remus, where he has been sorted into Slytherin ... and oh, is also married to Draco Malfoy since they both turned seventeen. If that's not strange enough, Harry learns that with Voldemort's soul gone, his own soul is in great danger and Draco Malfoy is the only thing that keeps him safe. Together, they swap places with their counterparts from the other universe to find a solution for Harry's problem. While also pretending to be married. Which is fine, really, but why one earth is Malfoy so different than Harry had ever imagined him to be?
