“Do you even have friends?” He’d always been aloof Under the Mountain, pretending to prefer Amarantha’s company alone. But that had been a lie. What else about his persona there had been a facade?
“If I’d lived for five hundred years and hadn’t made any friends, I’d be doing something wrong, don’t you agree?”
Feyre hummed, lost in thought. For the first time, she considered that Rhys might have a vibrant life in the Night Court that he’d lost during Amarantha’s reign. That he had family and friends who had missed him. Maybe even a lover.

This started out as a little side project to take a break from my other ACOTAR project (having some writers block with the next section, which is why it isn't out yet). Next thing I knew this has taken days and a couple of re-writes, (I messed up the timeline initially) and is kind of ridiculously long.
Also this is my first time in like fifteen years that I have written a full blown sex scene - I am praying it isn't awful.
There is some mild violence, but nothing too horribly graphic.
Also yes, one of the chapter's is titled after a Nickleback song, I might have listened to it while writing this... I'm so sorry. *dons the cone of shame.*

“Violence?” he asks, giving me a once over.
I look at his face, the red veins in the shape of lighting bolts streaked across his face. I meet his eyes, red rimmed and dark.
My heart thuds as if acknowledging its owner’s presence, longing ringing through me at the extended absence.
“Xaden,” I breathe.

Now Violet needs to learn how to navigate Basgiath War College as a second year with stakes higher than ever, protect the ones she loves, and sort out what to do with Xaden Riorson, the man who broke her heart but still very much owns it.
Like everyone else who’s read this book, I’m still suffering from the hangover that came from finishing it. Attempting to work out the hangover by taking a stab at what happens next.
Picks up right after Brennan is revealed to be alive. This fic is intended to run until Iron Flame comes out in November. I own nothing. I’m just here to kill time till November :)
