Summary
Major skewing of canon: we are operating under the assumption Melkor returned to Angband after his release and left again shortly thereafter, with Mairon at his side, to find some little (actually rather large, let’s be real) piece of land on a mountain to exclusively call their own. Some friends came with them. Treaties were signed, tentative peace was called, and here we are.

Summary
When Turgon dies in the Nirnaeth, Idril must fill the space of High King of the Noldor and Queen of Gondolin, even through her own grief and loneliness. An unexpected ally, however, appears in the form of Maeglin Lómion - her reclusive cousin who never left mourning for his own mother.
Maeglin has been relying on the kindness of his uncle all these years, and with Turgon's death, he no longer knows how his presence will be tolerated. When Idril makes him a deal, that he acts as her heir and counselor until she has a child to replace him as heir, he has little choice but to accept. But the two of them are more alike than they are different, and they come to discover a deep partnership in ruling the city together.

Summary
In this modern (early 90s) AU Eönwë is a criminal psychologist and Mairon was a part of Melkors crime syndicate ever since he had run away from home at thirteen. His right hand (spoilers) and his bargaining chip in many cases. The two meet during the court proceedings. Neither would've thought they'd see each other ever again. However, the universe had other plans.
This multi-chapter fic is the story of how things progressed from their second meeting. Expect some world building, mostly one-sided heavy imagining, some dark topics (warnings will be above each chapter, tags will be added along the way) being discussed and some psychological issues on the way. Oh, attempts at humour were also made.
