Summary
Giyuu's anger wasn't enough to do anything with, not anymore. He'd burned himself out at such a young age. All that was left was ash.
Genya seemed like him. His anger was fear, a shield he used. It wasn't his core like his brother and the other hashira who had tried to help him.
Maybe, just maybe, that would be enough for Giyuu to make a difference where they hadn't.
Or: Genya becomes Giyuu's tsugoku. Sanemi does not approve.

He blinks, staring. The pain in his arm had gone numb, as if he was a prey paralyzed by her predatory gaze.
"We are all people who need your help, and you must lead us all to Paradise. That is your duty. Don't you ever forget that."
At last, she releases him, and he sucks in a breath involuntarily.
The children had left.
And he never forgot.
