Summary
Another would perhaps be wary, frightened within the Second Harbinger’s hold. He beholds an intrusive image of a mask’s edge pecking at his eyelids, smiling canines nipping at his sinews, and he is not afraid. The Doctor could play an animal, a God casting gaze upon vermin all he wants, Pantalone knows he is but a person — and people can be reasoned with. Even if they had a predator’s teeth and a clinical inclination to skin the living.
There is a filth deep within him, and a monster with the same filth that waits to tear it out of him.
The Regrator knows to keep his colleagues close, enemies closer, and the Doctor closest.

Summary
Zandik didn’t have enough time but Feofan did. The folder of his origin had been bound in red with incomplete theories and results. 65 and 8 were the last to probe into his origin. A plague had been the excuse they used to dig up corpses to exhume and when Zandik created 65, the segment took on the partial job of finding his missing village. Inconclusive. No leads. He told him he was content.
(AKA When my Brainworms told me to find a way to bring back the Doctor for a happy ending and I had to cross the multiverse to grab a plot device)

Tsaritsa help him, he really did love every single one of them—even 35, with his insufferable ego, his sharp tongue, and the quiet war of self-hatred raging beneath his clinical posture. Feofan saw Zandik in every gesture, every tone, every flick of a gloved wrist. And yet, no matter how desperately he tried, his heart refused to accept the lie. They were pieces of him, echoes of him, but they were not him. They were fragments scattered across time, and the original man—the one who had held him, the one who had chosen him— remained locked behind an impassable wall of cold, leaving Feofan to love a house full of ghosts.
OR; Zandik has gone cold, and Feofan wagers his last hand to break the ice.

In which new-Dottore and Pantalone are unwilling to address the elephant in the room, a financial presentation stacks against the banker, political unrests disrupts Snezhnayan authority, causing fights amongst factions. Then the Shades decide to cause further ruckus, and new-Dottore would have to confront his own feelings of inferiority against a man from centuries past. Everything comes to a head at a New Year's Ball where eyes trail after those they mustn't focus on (lest they want themselves in unthinkable horrors.) -Sometimes, I feel sympathy for Prime. I mean, as much as one's circuits can replicate it. Seeing us – seeing himself – frozen in different ages, never able to grow nor learn ... Quite ironic for a scholar, isn't it ? I wonder if he felt shame, embarrassment, or something else entirely when he observed us bickering from his desk. Of course, I could infer that my own feelings towards my « selves » are the closest to what Prime must have felt, but alas, many things can change in twenty years. For a human, that is. For us... Twenty years, two hundred years, the only tangible change is the date we put on our reports, humbly asking for your financial support. »
Zandik was dead. There was no bringing him back, and four hundred years later, Feofan Sergeyevich Veskel still cannot come to terms with it.
